Castle Crashers is finally here folks. We spent the better part of our morning putting the game through its paces, and now a new episode of XBLA in Brief to show for it. An old school hack n' slash game with a quirky sense of humor, Castle Crashers definitely deserves notice from long time gamers. Check out our latest episode and find out if it's worth 1200 Microsoft Points.

Bought it this morning and played for a bit before work. It's almost like the guys at Behemoth looked at every beat-em-up, took the best parts, added their unique style, and made an awesome game. Best 1200 points I've spent all year.
Once more Sir Richard brings to the world an informative review with his crusade, XBLA in Brief. Great review (and what a sexy voice)!
PS I do enjoy hearing Mr. Mitchell every week, but can we get some variety? I haven't heard Dustin since that Halo map pack review. I don't think Xander has done any. Come on guys, please? For me?
aw c'mon, let Richard have his feature. He's awesome at it; and frankly my tastes line up more with his than the other bloggers on the site... and since I buy a lot of XBLA titles... yeah, I really like that it's the Richard Mitchell show personally.
The bugs extend past multiplayer. I a few times now I have gotten a black screen and glitched audio. Then moments later I am kicked out of the level and on to the world map.
It really sucked when I was about to beat the boss on the lava level.
I was fooling around at the blacksmith's shop and just got it all a sudden. Walk around the blacksmith himself and swing your sword and hopefully you'll get it too. Sorry that isn't very specific; I didn't even know what it was at first!
Great game! Brings back fond memories of old school bear em ups. Easily worth the 1200 pts. Only problem is I was having connection problems too. Every time I finished a level it would send me back to the main screen.
The game is fun. Reminds me of Golden Ax and little of River City Ransom.
But, I am having connection issues online, as well as, the game locks up. The lockup's mainly happen when loading and on occasion if I go to the multiplayer search.
Thank you! I looks very much like Golden Axe; a faster, slicker version of course. Why can't SEGA update some of their classics for XBLA? Anyway I didn't get into Alien Hominid, but will be checking this one out.
I love the art style and sense of humor so far. Otherwise, it seems like your typical hack n slash affair. Nothing wrong with that of course, I'm just not sure yet that it's better than, say, Guardian Heroes, for instance. Still, I enjoyed my thirty minutes with it last night before the red sox came on. I probably need to give it a little more time.
Oh- Once again, as with Alien Hominid, the achievements seem pretty difficult.
Bought it, played it, love it. With this XBLA line-up I might not need to buy another game this year. Oh wait, Left 4 Dead you say? Ok, well, until then. : )
Please, does anyone know how to unlock the secret characters!!??(not the ones you get from arena or beating game with knights) The site and forums for CC are down and I want the bee keeper but no one seems to know how to unlock the cool characters :/
