Capcom: Resident Evil 2 Wiimake rumor 'isn't worth a comment'
42
Capcom has seemingly dealt a swift and deadly blow to rumor of a Resident Evil 2 remake (not the port again) for Wii that's allegedly been detailed in Famitsu. "This isn't worth a comment," deemed Christian Svensson, VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Capcom, when pestered for a reaction. We couldn't agree more. But then, well, stranger things have happened...

The below statement is true.
The above statement is false.
Actually there's a solution, but let's pretend there isn't!!!!

I'd buy it. Resident Evil 2 is probably my favorite RE. Possibly even my favorite game in the genre.

Street Fighter IV for the NES and Super NES wasn't unconfirmed either.

Man this would be awesome. Resident Evil 2 is easily my favorite RE game and one of my favorite games of all time. I just hope it's not a rehash, and I would love to see a XBOX 360 or Playstation 3 remake because the Wii is just not my thing. But then again. I love that game so much I probably would buy a Wii for that RE2 remake.

A REmake of Resident Evil 2 would be lovely! RE2 is very much loved by RE community around the world. Please, please Capcom! Make it something like REmake for the GameCube; detailed, darker, dirtier, muted colors, harder and badder! And oh, please throw in Crimson Zombies ... they provided for some really tense atmosphere.

Wait, is that a "duh" comment, or a "wtf" comment?

What do people have to do to confirm rumours are not true nowadays without people still thinking its unconfirmed and asking the same bloody question over and over.
"Look! Its not happening alright, for shit sake, stop asking that effing question! Move onto other things, my wife, my kids, the development of the human brain, why we exist! I don't care, anything BUT whether or not that stupid rumour is true! No I will go commit suicide!"

You forgot the second half of the quote:
"Alright, now let's go finish making that dumbass game he was asking about, then announce it tomorrow."
People would stop asking if developers would ever even once hold to what they said.

I've never gotten into the Resident Evil series, but I want to.
Where should I start? I have a Wii and PS3 w/BC, so any PS1, PS2, GC, or Wii RE works.
I'm really looking forward to RE5.

Well, start with the Resident Evil 1 remake as its less full of plot holes and better planned (though you have to play the Origional Resident Evil or Resident Evil Directors Cut as the terrible voice acting is legendary! "What is it?" .......... "Blood") Then play Resident Evil Zero after that, as it will make more sense even though it is before the origional game. Then you have a choice of Resi 2 and 3 on PSone or GC(which has slightly smother graphics) Then Code Veronica X which is PS2 only (very good game that one) Then go to whatever RE4 you want to, the GC version has less features than the PS2 version but I think the Wii version has those things anyway (could wait for a NES port as they seem to be porting it to everything :|) That should leave you ready for RE5 ^_^
If you do see any FPS resident evil, run away, run as fast as you can! Outbreak and Outbreak 2 are pretty cool games, but they are mainly for the RE die hard fans to learn some extra stories not connected to the main games but you go to some places from the main game so it will get the nerds pulse racing. :P

Go for it if it is better and more control than NGC version with controllers then go for it.

ehhh, I definitely wouldnt say 'by far,' though everybody disagrees with me when I say the RE1 remake was 'by far' the best...
It all has to do with the story for me, and they really started screwin it up at Veronica with terrible villains. Plus, when stuff starts mutating at such an incredible rate that they got from large man sized to fill up the back of an airplane...
...totally geting rated down for this comment lol RE FTW!

Wouldn't be awesome if they used re4 control scheme instead of how re2 was like? Although that would be unlikely, and would be an entirely different game altogether.
RE3 is still my favorite of the series, especially how you could side step, it was almost like shooting while moving!

exactly, Resident evil 2 is the best zombie RE. I'm also fed up of resident evil 1 being ported to everything PSOne x2, Saturn, PC, GameCube (though i like this one), DS and Wii (via Umbrella Chronicles). Please remake RE2 on Wii with RE4 viewpoint, controls and 3D backdrops. For those that dont like RE4's viewpoint, they could add a classic mode option which switches the camera straight back to the old one. Thus using the Cube controller or the Wii Remote to play it in a point and click style. Done!

As I'm sure you've seen everywhere, RE4: Wii Edition is indisputably the best game in the series. It's certainly one of the best action games in its generation, and probably one of the best ever. The control is perfect, the graphics are great, the story is so perfectly "summer action blockbuster" that you can't help but love it, and the game has tons of replay value. Whether you want a Resident Evil game or not, if you own a Wii, you have no reason not to own RE4.
However: If you want a "true" RE experience, you'd be wise to go to RE0 or, if you can find it, the GCN collection with both Zero and the remake. These two games are a whole hell of a lot scarier than 4 (IMHO mostly just because of difficulty and bad control). They are both still good games, and worth playing, but 4 is much better. Much heavier on puzzles, though you may find some of the puzzles somewhat frustrating.
Aside from those, I only played 2, on GCN, and Umbrella Chronicles. UC is fine if you want a rail-shooter, and co-op's fun. RE2... unless you're a fan from the old days or really committed to the plot, I'd skip it, along with 3 and Code Veronica. Survival horror is a genre that isn't exactly helped by aging, and I've met few people who like those games aside from RE fans that have been playing them all along.
