Dead Space Animated Comic: Issue 5

Something totally gross is afoot on the intergalactic mining vessel USG Ishimura. The latest issue of the animated Dead Space comic is now available for your viewing pleasure, complete with subtle pans, focus pulls, and just enough squishy sound effects to get the whole thing across.

As far as video game advertising goes, we've gotta say these comics/videos are pretty effective. Watching these chumps try and kill the space-baddies is pretty frustrating when we all know that you need to strategically dismember them. You can't just shoot willy-nilly! And seriously, how do you expect to do any damage without a badass spacesuit and accompanying laser triton? You know what, forget it! We'll just do it ourselves ... drat, advertising!

Too bad the gameplay appears to take place AFTER the comic, so that you don't get to play through any of the comic's cool backstory.

These comics are great stuff I hope I get to see these character in the game when I pick it up! Huge kudo's to EA for going all out on fleshing this games marketing out!

This game looks very promising. But I am wary of the actual gameplay. I hope this "strategic dismemberment" doesn't go too far. I mean I don't wanna have to kill every little monster by first shooting off all its limbs. Because that will get real old, real fast, especially on a console.

Looking at the gameplay video's, it's really tedious. Here is a monster barreling down at you while you are adjusting your crosshairs to the right position, trying to shoot it's arm off, and all the while little critters are chomping on your feet.

I have to say that the comics have done their job. I hadn't planned on giving this game the time of day and it's slowly become something I can't wait to play.

Yeah, I hadn't been all that interested in the game before, then when I watched the animated comics I was totally hooked. They are very well done, and the storyline so far seems to not hold back with what is going to come.

I really can't wait. I hope the movie and game are on par with these comics. They are seriously good.

Why does it sound a lot like doom 3. Is it just me or does it sound a lot like doom 3. "Which sounded like system shock two, but had evils from hell and ancient artifacts. Instead of hybrids, and alien eggs." Which this game has (the artifacts and the gate to hell, or afterlife). The only thing that is setting it apart is that there is a cult/religion in this game as part of the setting. "Which is indigo prophecy, GOD DAMN IT."

Did they just take several plot points that where proven to actually work and mixed them together?

At least it has well done, (if not familiar) story, and the characters are some what interesting, but the fact that they advertise dead space as you alone on a station, you probably won't be seeing any of theses characters. At least Directly anyway.

The game itself shows promise, from what I've seen.

This comic is intense, why Horror movies aren't like this anymore?

I want zombies, I'm tired of gory serial killers garbage,I'm tired of Remakes of old movies,I'm tired of Remakes of Japanese movies,I'm tired of new hollywood horror movies, give me some zombies goddammit.
