Those looking to help iron out the kinks in Sony's silicon-powered social gathering space, PlayStation Home, can now add Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan as valid entry locations for the program's closed beta. Sony's Hong Kong site (via Edge) is already asking readers to check back on August 29th for information on the test, which is expected to begin in mid-September.
Edge also notes that an open beta will commence this Fall, coinciding with similar events in Europe and the US. The more the merrier we say ... even if everybody in the virtual room is just whining about how a plain ol' menu would suffice.

On other news, Home is going to be ported on the Xbox 360.

If MS plays their cards right, it could be a timed 360 exclusive?

I believe its going to be rolled out like GMail, as in, it's always going to be a beta.
I like it that way, it means they can always keep updating it with more uses and functions. Besides, its coming out this fall, apparently =P

Yea, it is fall. I can't wait to see peoples reaction to it. Some of the uses (virtual war room anyone?) is plum stupid. While others (Virtual pool room!) seem decent. Over all, it's just a bullet point to brag about what they are showing the drooling fanboys a comparison between the PS3 and 360.
Personally, I wouldn't be suprise if MS or Rare already have a SecondLife clone in the works. Actually, I'd love to see SecondLife itself on the 360 just because I think it would be an interesting use of open software.

application started, and we only need to spend 60 HKD (that's no more than $10) to get a closed beta account, or fill a form, but I choose the former choice.
judging from the article, people who fill the form first will get the account first. and they have only 100 for HongKong.
