Entertainment Weekly reports that Rock Band 2 will be receiving some pretty hefty full albums in the "coming months," presumably after the game launches in September. All told, Entertainment Weekly reveals six full albums from well-known groups. The albums mentioned are:
Foo Fighters -- "The Colour and the Shape"
Red Hot Chili Peppers -- "Blood Sugar Sex Magik"
Jane's Addiction -- "Nothing's Shocking"
Megadeth -- "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying"
Stevie Ray Vaughn -- "Texas Flood"
Also mentioned in the article is a special collection of hits from No Doubt (you know, the band Gwen Steffani was in before she went crazy). Some very big names indeed. We're particularly excited by offerings from Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jane's Addiction. How about you, loyal readers? Anything up there tickle your fancy?
Well, at least the only Foo Fighters album worth owning, anyways. They've had some OK songs since then, but I got suckered into buying 2 albums post-Color, and other than the singles, they sucked ASS.
I'm in for Foo Fighters, RHCP and possibly the No Doubt. Although, if it's a "Best Of" for them I'm just going to assume it's Tragic Kingdom without that being the title of the album. They didn't have a whole lot of hits after that, IMO.
more RHCP? sweeeeeeeet also, why not just release Tragic Kingdom? it was their best stuff anyways, i mean seriously, who wants to be playin Bathwater or Hella Good?
not to rain on the parade but the Jane's Addiction video they posted (you know... the REALLY GOOD version of Jane Says (Live) with the steel drums)....
yeah.... that isn't on the album they're releasing... it will just be a far less cool studio version... too bad.
Definitely buying "Give It Away" but not any full albums... I gotta see what other singles they have on there I'd be interested in...
This may not be the place for it, but am I the only person on the planet that doesn't like Jane's Addiction?
The other albums looks great, specifically RHCP and Foo Fighters. But... Jane's Addiction? Really? Someone wants to sing that high and babble about nothing?
Jane's Addiction was one of the most influential bands to me personally... they saved me from the cock-rock rut of the 80's. It was the only thing like it at the time. Although their newest album leaves a lot to be desired, Ritual de lo Habitual has been in constant listening rotation since the 6th grade (a LONG time), but to each his own, I guess.
And, to answer your question, my girlfriend can not stand Perry Farrell. She thinks he is a shrill, self-serving attention-whore, so no, you are not alone.
I'm SUPER excited for "The Colour And The Shape," As well as the RHCP album. Hopefully they release There Is Nothing Left to Lose and By The Way as well (Latter is a RHCP album, and the former a Foo Fighter album).
