Are you prepared for a new Golden Axe: Beast Rider trailer?

It's been three months since we've seen any moving pictures from Golden Axe: In Name Only, but is that enough time to prepare yourself for a new trailer? Have you had enough time to get ready for footage of a title that's so clearly not a Golden Axe game that it's almost kind of adorable? Are you ready for "Not this day!" sure to be one of the classic video game lines of all time? Most importantly (and prominently), are you braced for the most gratuitous digital ass shot of this or any other decade?

For just the ass shot? If you've got a couple of minutes that need killing, I'd say yes.

The entire trailer actually made me want to play it. It looks like it could be fun.

In an age of online co op, one would think the game that pioneered the co op genera could hold up against the hack and slash of a little game like Castel Crashers.

Golden Axe was all about the co-op,

Agreed. My enthusiasm for this game (which was not ever very high) plummeted through the floor when I heard they were not including co-op. Even the Sega spokesperson seemed to think it was a bad decision.

This looks kind of fun. I watched the trailer on mute so I wasn't dragged through the inevitable rancid narration. It really doesn't look awful, I'm surprised. And as for it being "clearly not a Golden Axe game" - Justin, have you ever played Golden Axe? In any form?

As a matter of fact Joystiq, no, I am NOT prepared for another trailer for this game. In fact, since the announcement that there is not going to be any co-op, the only preparations I have made are to avoid being interested in anything that has to do with this steamy pile.

Gah, I'm so disappointed with the art direction in this game. Why is everything brown?! And it seems Tyris - although I don't see how the hell that is supposed to be her - is wearing pants again, like in the early pictures. Bah!

People complain a lot about the lack of multiplayer, but it's not as if adding that would make this look or feel any more like Golden Axe. The world, characters and pretty much everything else just look nothing like the original games, and that's the biggest problem I have with this game. It may end up being a decent game, I dunno, but unless it will deliver something vastly different from these trailers, Golden Axe it ain't.
