Meet Robert, Craig, Preston and Aaron. Three of these four guys have waited since 10:30 p.m. last night in front of the convention center, just to be first in line for the 2008 Penny Arcade Expo. And no, we're not going to spoil who is less of a superfan. At 5:00 a.m. this morning they were let into the building, and at 8:00 a.m. they made their way into the line where you now see them. So after 15 and a half hours of waiting here, what exciting plans do they have for once they enter?
"I don't know," said Robert.

Congratulations? Ermm... yay?
Dirty @ Aug 29th 2008 2:55PM
Is it just me or is waiting in line for this sorta pointless. Its not like a theater with limited seating or a product that will probably sell out.
Ranelar @ Aug 29th 2008 2:57PM
Agreed. I'm always amazed when I meet super geeks who are not actually intelligent.
TomCo @ Aug 29th 2008 3:52PM
@Ranelar
Not me, I've grown to accept stupidity as the norm.
Shagittarius @ Aug 29th 2008 3:01PM
They are waiting in line to suck off Mike and Jerry so its prolly a good thing they got their early.
cuso26 @ Aug 29th 2008 3:02PM
Umm, good for them? The only thing worse than habitual line waiters are the news outlets that keep giving them attention :P
Sorry Joystiq, love ya but isn't there another "Nintendo Bashes Hardcore Player Base" story you could be doing instead? :)
Tez (PSN: Tezasaurus) @ Aug 29th 2008 3:05PM
Epic (fail).

I am pretty positive that is a yeti with a shaven face.
atlnative @ Aug 29th 2008 3:39PM
Ha,ha. I can guarantee you these guys are virgins.
Mr.Ironic @ Sep 8th 2008 6:52PM
Why? Have you been stalking them their entire lives?
Tez (PSN: Tezasaurus) @ Aug 29th 2008 4:14PM
It's because he's one of the guys in the picture.
WiiFTW @ Aug 29th 2008 3:31PM
Well at least they're not waiting in line to scalp some in-demand item (Wii). Cause then Joystiq would kick their asses.
But I guess they have nothing better to do. It's like hanging out, except it's outside of a convention where you can't really do anything but wait.

Wow. That was a waste of a night.
Then again, I'm writing this from the PAX line so I'm not sure what this says about how well I use my free time.
Dirty @ Aug 29th 2008 4:17PM
Just curious as to the advantage of being in line as opposed to just showing up when it opens.
I have never made it out to a PAX, im genuinely curious.
zuburi @ Aug 29th 2008 4:47PM
FIRST!
...in line at PAX.
Hoffer @ Aug 29th 2008 11:08PM
I'm at PAX. Doors opened at 2:00, I showed up at 2:30 and then stood in the will call line for 90 minutes.
Advice if you ever go to PAX. Either have your pass delivered to your house or buy a pass there. People that just bought a pass there did it in 5 minutes.
