In an interview with Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard we discussedFallout 3's lack of a MOD support and this generation of consoles. While Howard admits the team wants to add support for user generated content he confesses adding the feature -- which was included in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion -- is a daunting task for a team eager to complete the epic adventure.
"We don't [have MOD support at launch], we want to but we have our hands so full with getting the game out and getting tools out there that work well for people and with the game is a pretty big undertaking," Howard told Joystiq.
I don't think it's not a matter that's under his control. A lot of people will love it, but there are sure to be gamers who refuse to take off the nostalgia goggles that constantly replay the first two games over in their head. He can't force those people to like it.
How was that dancing around? It's a completely subjective question.. To the hoards of mouth-foaming fanboys it will never compete with Fallout 1 & 2.. for anybody with half a brain, it's up to them to decide.
there goes my slim hope of getting mod support on ps3 since the dlc is 360 exclusive. not that it's a game high on my list, i just want to see more developers take advantage of the ps3 and it's more open nature.
Oh and while I am here lets go over the PS3 issues, at one time it was slower than the 360 due to coding issues and getting to know the hardware, guess what fanboys the PS3 is not faster than it was due to improvements in coding, so the only thing holding back FO3 is the devs not waning to do anything, and I wonder how many issues will plague the 360 counterpart like Bioshock did god lord the fail60 needs a overhaul BAD...well..they are putting more ramm into new units...still have not gotten the overheating issues dealt with...
I am not sure I will be buying FO3, Bethesda showed with Oblivion what careless they are to fix bugs (all platforms), all software have bugs but not publishing fixes for critical bugs that force you to restart the game (games that have hours and hours already) is just plain wrong
