When you're playing a fantasy
adventure game or
RPG such as, say,
Zelda or
Etrian Odyssey, what do you call your character? Do you have a single pseudonym you use for all games, do you have several, or do you tap in your own name? Whenever I play a
Zelda title, I use "Link," for three reasons:
- I am horribly unimaginative.
- I want to play the game as the creators intended, and in my head, using "Link" somehow achieves that goal.
- "Chris" just doesn't fit very well into the Zelda universe, does it? It's not very Zelda-y.
Maybe you're really lucky and have a name that is both yours
and really suitable for a fantasy setting. Maybe you're called
Zagaroth or something. Any Zagaroths out there?
