PAX 2008: Rooster Teeth show off Red v. Blue anime
46
The Rooster Teeth gang had a rather interesting reveal at this year's PAX 2008 ... an anime of Red v. Blue. Yes, the known machinima has crossed the threshold into Japanese animation. Of course, the voicing and ad lib comedy that's made them famous is still intact. Check out the shaky came footage after the break.

Wow
This would really boost up Adult Swim if this was picked up.

I completely disagree, much of the funny-ness from their series is the vulgarity.
From your statement, I doubt you have watched much of Rooster Teeth's series anyway.
Their series would lose their audience if it bacame a Saturday Morning Cartoon. And if that's the case, let someone else do it. And the folks who watch their stuff is the 18+ (more like 25 and up) crowd.
But Bravo, great video, looking forward to more :)

I think Halo's audience is much larger then 18+. Although Rooster Teeth has a more adult audience, I think you could take out the one time they say "fuck" and the video and story would sustain it's humor.
Personally I think the true humor and originality of Red vs. Blue comes from their clever machinema. Not the vulgarity.
But whatever floats your boat.

That's the first thing that came to my head when looking at the screen.
Also if you can't see a relevance between Animated Warriors in Robo-Suits and Power Rangers then I'm afraid you're a lil' bit thick.

eDog, don't even joke about them dropping the vulgarity.
This is not Dora the Explor(a), this is Rooster Teeth, and I don't know if you know this, but the logo actually means Cock Bite.
So keep your Anti-vulgarity to yourself, cock bite.

I can't really tell from the vid, but are the environments CG rendered, while the characters and other items are not?
Anyway, its good to see quality Western animation for once. The stuff that passes for animation nowadays makes me cry sometimes, except for Venture Bros and Flapjack (even though flapjack suffers from terrible writing, i quite like the visual style)

Hint: Even if RT didn't tap a well-known Japanese art house like most sensible companies do nowadays when adapting a popular franchise into an animated form, chances are Americans are only doing the keys, which are generally a fraction of the number of frames that actually go into an animation.

Avatar is like most Anime. Except for cowboy bebop. That Anime is more of a movie in my opinion. Top notch stuff when it comes to anime.

I like mah haloz, and I like mah anime, but that doesn't mean I like them mix together. I just feel it lost a lot of the charm the series had when it was a machina series.
But it does remind me I should watch the RVB series again.

Seems very cool IMO.
I agree with the Saturday morning cartoon stuff, would be a great idea, and help with the whole bringing new people to gaming thing. As far as game content goes, Halo is a really soft M, there are T games with worse content IMO (other than online chatter of course).

If this is a full on movie I'm buying it. I hope thats the case because this would not work on TV... less they cut off the balls of the show(swear words that is) and if they do that then whats the point.

As Youthinized said though, it could easily be applied to Adult Swim. Not only that, they could "bleep" out the words for the television series (which sometimes add to the style of a show) and release an unedited DVD version. Works perfectly, really.
