Rock Band is going charitable, with a special PAX Pack for next week's DLC. All three bands are performing at this weekend's Penny Arcade Expo, and all money for the tracks go towards Child's Play charity.
PAX Pack 1 (240 / $3)
"Skullcrusher Mountain" - Jonathan Coulton
"Livin' on the Corner of Dude and Catastrophe" - MC Frontalot
"Shhh¿." - Darkest of the Hillside Thickets
All songs are master recordings and "Shhh" is a previously unreleased track. The songs will be available for download next Tuesday and Thursday for Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively.
I agree too. Since there are 2 in New Orleans (I'm in La.) I'm just going to send them money directly. I don't want 3 tracks I couldn't care less about on my game. Keep us in your prayers, I think were about to get slammed.
I am a fan of JC and MC Frontalot (the former, more than the latter). They are both decent musicians, with the ability to write an amazing lyric. They aren't exactly "normal" but that's all part of the fun. I would have chosen different songs to do for each artist, but that's me.
I've never heard of Darkest though, and will check them out soon.
I also give a shit. Still Alive was fun and all, but it's waaaay too overplayed, over done, and just generally over. I'd been hoping for a JC track, and this is right up my alley. Not much going on for me on MC Frontalot.. I've heard of Hillside Thickets, that's as far as that goes.
Finafuckingly a Jonathan Coulton song (sung by JC himself). I've been anticipating this day since I heard of him in February I hope they get more soon (maybe a Thing-a-Week Pack or his small albums) I really want to sing "Re: Your Brains", "The Big Boom", "Code Monkey", "De-evolving" (plus that f-ing guitar solo) God I'm gonna end up listing all his songs. There r only a few I dnt want from him; "Resolutions", "See you All in Hell", "Rock and Roll Boy" "Joan and Jane" any song with sound clips basically. Though I wouldn't mind "W's Duty" it's too funny not to include and "25 or 64" would b cool but prob wnt b released due to copyright stuff.
