One of the best things about PAX is that it's not just all about video games. There are legions of people who still enjoy doing it old school, and that includes board games, tabletoppers, and RPGs. We witnessed people playing everything from the massive, sprawling, plastic-fest of Twilight Imperium to the simple wordplay of Apples to Apples. Heck, even the final elimination round of the Omegathon was a Jenga showdown.
Check out the gallery below that's filled with people who still love how a pair of dice feels in their hands. To those about to roll, we salute you.

That picture with the stacks upon stacks of board games is a beautiful, beautiful sight.

You could actually check ANY of them out just by letting them hold your ID. Pretty amazing stuff! I wish I had a games closet stocked like that.

You've never been to a Boardgaming con, have you? Those are pretty small stacks of pretty common games.
If you want to see real stacks of games, go look for pictures of BGG.con. Over a thousand different games to borrow by showing your ID, some of which have never even been printed for the US market. Tens of thousands of dollars in games to give away as door prices.
Going to PAX for the board games is like going to GEN-CON for the computer games.

They were giving those out at this giant Dragon Age pub to promote the game.

There is something special about the tangibility of games such as these that video games will never really be able to emulate.
