Nah, a few quick google searches turned them up. I was amazed at the sheer number, though. I was expecting a half-dozen or so, not the flood that I got. After that, the post wrote itself.

@Kyle Orland

Some of the links in your post are not active using Firefox.

Also, some of the bundles I saw were PSP & PS2.

We have not seen that many bundles here in the states. Off the top of my head there are the Blu-Ray Bundle Packs, MGS 4, Motorstorm & I think a GT:Prologue bundle. There was also the limited edition MGS 4 bundle available through the Konami website.

MY GOD, how is this even possible!? I cannot fathom that some other site might have posted a similar story.

Please, oh guru of the news, share with us your secrets of discovering everything before us.

You know, your e-penis is still just as small as ever for your "OLD STORY!" comment.

Its not like the PS3 has that skin on it. Who keeps the box in their room on display anyway? Some people will bitch about anything.

I would rather buy the MGS 4 or Uncharted bundle if I needed a PS3. I will buy this game on day 1 but those games are some of the two best exclusives on the console.

believe it or not, that box art is a smart marketing move.

it will attract people that either are not familiar with PS3 or thought it was nothing but a hardcore system.

only problem is, most people who arent familiar with the PS3 probably wont know what LittleBigPlanet is...

Da-da-da-daaayum I didn't realize there were so many bundles.

What I find interesting is how many M-rated bundles there are. Though they don't seem as widely implemented as, say, the Super Nintendo/Super Mario World bundles from back in the day, which were seemingly omnipresent.

It is shaping up to set a new standard for platforming and content creation.

If you don't want to make levels download from the other of thousands of levels.

Too bad it doesn't come with the old 80gb SKU, but the new one similar to the 40gb.

Will the original 80gb SKU be discontinued, leaving only the new 80gb and 160gb models with no PS2 BC, 2 USB ports and no memory card readers? : (

Thats correct. The truth of the matter is Sony was losing to much on hardware and had to cut cost. I know many people say they will only buy a PS3 with PS3 BC but the numbers don't lie. When those bundles were available no one was buying them.

They may eventually offer a software solution for emulation. It would be a smart business move to do so and offer it for sale on the PSN as a download. Then, sell a SKU with a voucher for PS2 BC included.

You can still find some of the 80 GB bundles that offer software emulation. I have even seen some 20 GB and 60 GB versions here and there. If the system would have sold from the jump like it has been the last year BC never would have been nixed.

i seriously doubt they'll sell a BC solution. it'll most likely come in an update. nintendo doesn't sale the ability to play snes, turbogfx16, or neogeo games they sell the code for the games.

I was originally gunna hold off on buying a PS3 a little while longer, but once I heard the MGS4 bundle was no longer being produced (they're just clearing out the ones still in store) I immediatly ordered one. I want PS2 BC in my PS3 in case something happens to my PS2, so I'm not interested in any of the new SKU's. In fact, the only major retailer that is still selling the MGS4 bundle online is Toys R' Us. I'm glad I got one in time. There were a bunch of other shady sites but they were all selling them for over the $499 price point. The BC wasn't the only thing concerning me though... I really wanted memory card readers.

So did you guys down vote because I said something or was it because he said LBP and 360 in the same sentence? Obviously he didn't know, thats no reason to down vote.

Jeez Sony fanboys are ALMOST as bitter and Microsoft fanboys.

Can't blame em. PS3 is slowly becoming the system we were promised in 2006 yay.

This package would be an excuse for me to go out and finally buy a PS3 if it comes to the US and if it's BC with PS2 games.

Don't get me wrong, I really really want a PS3 and have for a long time it just I need that little extra push before I throw down the cash for one.

you can forget about any BC solution. If thats what you want you need to get your hands on an older SKU and just buy LBP at retail. They have said over and over that BC is done on the PS3. It will still play PS1 games but not PS2 games. Sorry.

I have a huge library of PS2 games and honestly I have played maybe 2 or 3 on my PS3. It was one of those things that sounded great in practice but in reality I haven't used it that much.

I wish to buy a PS3 again after my 60gb had died. I hope they can make the Blu-Ray drives more reliable in these new models.

But then, they had to mess up by removing PS2 BC.

I realize that most PS3 owners don't care for PS2 BC, that cutting it saves costs for Sony and edges them more to profitability.

But I think some are willing to pay a bit extra for PS2 BC in a PS3, myself included. I would buy a 60gb again but they use the older processors, chipsets which run hotter and a more fail prone Blu-Ray drive which happened to me with GTA4.

So, when the heck are they going to release the bundle in the US? This might be the game that actually gets me to buy the PS3 (or a new Twisted Metal), and I want a bundle. Any word?

Actually, I would have been really surprised if they DIDN'T make an LBP bundle... it's just too attractive to the casual buyer. I'm just happy I don't have to worry about BC, I got the MGS4 bundle when it came out in June, so no worries. As far as I'm concerned, I'm set (when it comes to hardware) until the PS4 comes out.
