With Tales of Vesperia hysteria winding down to hushed, library whispers, Microsoft is forced to look to the next great game to carry the Xbox 360 into the folded and largely apathetic arms of Japanese consumers. Otogi developer From Software is hoping to satisfy this need with its previously leaked and generically titled actioner, Ninja Blade.
Set for release on Microsoft's console during early 2009, the game has very little to show for itself, outside of a teaser trailer featuring a Tokyo predictably beset by demons and a ninja wielding ... oh, we don't know, some sort of sharp and pointy thing. See for yourself after the break.
Software? What a wonderful and original name for a business, its no wonder they thought of the most non cliche and highly original name for a game title ey :)
So whats this one? Yakuza or Onimusha clone? Or maybe its a Ninja Gaiden Clone, or a Tenchu clone, or a red steel slone or a......
Personally I think that was the most underwhelming teaser trailer ever, but my default reaction to games featuring Ninjas is something along the lines of 'careful anticipation' so I guess I'll have to hope for some gameplay foot-age
I feel sorry for anyone that's never played Otogi 1 and 2. They will talk shit about From Software's newest project while the rest of us will be smiling in the corner, waiting patiently...
Otogi was the shit, but my girl would sit in back of me and mimic the voice of the goddess when ever I would mess up saying "Raiku your F'ing UP! RAIKU DO BETTER!" needless to say Otogi pissed me off sometimes, and that voice EVEN MORE!
You can't front on Otagi, and sure the name isn't all that, but I wouldn't sleep on this game.. But I'm sure it will get hated on from the sony fanboys until they announce it for them also..
Yea because only Sony fanboys hate Microsoft games. Especially games with a short teaser and no actual in game action. Only a Sony fanboy could hate something so perfect.
So let me get this straight. This game is on you're "just wait" list because of developer pedigree? Haze & Lair anyone??? Hypocrisy at its best.
The fact of the matter is none of us really know anything about this game. Some of us know a thing or two about the developers pedigree which excites us. Some of us are hyping it for our own selfish reasons.
There is no need to do a preemptive strike against Sony fanboys when no one has went out of their way to hate this game. I yearn for the day when we can stop talking in terms of fanboys and just talk in terms of gamers.
