Pretty cool. If I ever need another DS, this might be the colour I go for.

I just picked up the Pokemon bundle a few weeks ago (and I'm very happy with it, btw), so I think I'll be passing on this one.

However, my wife is getting one for christmas, so I might see if she'd rather have this than the pink.

silver is pretty ugly... in my opinion. because it looks cheap, like they used some color to paint the white DS. what I like about lime green and white is, that they have some kind of transparent layer on top of the color so it doesn't like some cheap plastic.
but that's only me ;)

Why are they doing this now? I think its a little late now. It's not like anyone who wasn't convinced before is convinced now, but variety is always good.

Honestly, of all colors, the silver looks worst. Compared to white or black DS, silver has the look and feeling of cheap plastic. Probably due to resemblance with classical beige PCs. This is from my hands-on experience over here in Germany.

If Nintendo was targeting female audience, I'm sure that white-pearl edition (with pearl tint, probably for premium price) would have been more popular, especially as a gift to GF.

So far, from what I see on streets, black and pink are the most popular colors. I yet to see the silver or green DS outside of shops.

Does anyone know if the plastic is silver all the way through, or is this just a white DS painted silver? I don't want to get it if the silver can flake off.

No thanks. My phat blue has been working fine for two years, so I have no need for another.

Eh, I'll pass. I've already got an original Phat, and 3 Onyx Lites (don't ask).

Maybe if there was, oh, I don't know, a PRICE CUT, I might pick one up.

I hate to pile on the new silver Lite with everyone else, but I still have to agree that I don't care for it. The particular type of silver they used looks cheap, like the color of dollar-store universal remote controls and other cheap plastic electronics. The paint job of such devices tends to be a disgusting industrial silver spray paint that rubs off on one's hand almost immediately after contact. The silver DS Lite has somehow unintentionally and unfortunately managed to recreate that exact color and sheen.

...on a personal note, I'm still waiting for my deep maroon/forest green/mahogany brown DS Lites. Preferably bundled with Fire Emblem DS.

I personally wish they sold an all-blue DS in the States instead of that two-color job currently called "Cobalt". I liked my Japanese one (until it disappeared at the airport).

I have an original launch DS with the wear to prove it and I'm never getting rid of it. I've gotten rid of one system in my entire life, that old brick of a Gameboy, and I always wish I had it back.

DS Lites just aren't my thing. Too small.

Nah. I'm not a big fan of silver. Besides, I just bought my pink DS Lite a few weeks ago.

Now, if it were the ice blue/turquoise DS Lite, I would return my pink one to the store immediately.
