This is cool. If the PS3 Controller is true this means and can took up to a T.V. and play on sometimes with a Controller. Nice Sony Very Nice.

I've been advocating a UMD drive / PSP emulator add-on for the PS3 for a while now. Ironically, it'd probably sell more PSP games than the PSP does.

That said, I'll take the rumored DS3/PSP integration. Anyone notice if the FCC has cleared the PSP-3000 with Bluetooth?

Agreed. I have a phat, and i don't enjoy playing games on it. The D-pad is hard to use, and the nub is in a bad position to use it effectively, especially for someone with large hands. If they announced a PSP player for PS3, i would be very interested.

Litterally on the side, it is the Wi-Fi switch, its best to leave it off when your not using it as it saves on the battery.

I still have a launch PSP so I cant connect it to the TV or I'd be more excited for the PS3 controller thing.

If it's comming, you can bet your ass it'll just ooze with snark, as per usual when it concerns a post about anything playstation...

Anyway, yes stuff like this should have been there a while ago, but we all know Sony is a slow starter when it comes to online.

People bitch and moan about how this or that isn't there, but let's not forget all of this shit is FREE. I'm not saying that they should be excused, it's a competitive market, but they are catching up with MS, at zero cost to the player at that.

Let's see what MS comes up with to differentiate themselves from the competition in the online space and how they can continue to justify charging money for it.

Most people would be next to a ps3/pc when using wi-fi with their psp.

gj Sony you once again made another useless feature for your products.

It's not useless at all dipshit. Some people don't use a wireless network. Now the PS3 will be able to serve that job, so you can play psp games ad hoc using the PS3.

Big difference between just surfing the store from the couch on your PSP and having to turn on the PC/PS3, plug in the PSP, and then download to the PC/PS3 and install on the PSP.

It's a huge deal, and it's something that should have been done forever ago.

Dammit. So games have to be designed to support the online multiplayer? What are the odds that FF Tactics will be supported?

Any chance that it will be compatible with all games if you know exactly who you're connecting to? (in other words, just like the regular ad-hoc multiplayer, but from a distance) I don't see why that shouldn't be possible, if they're just willing to do it.

I'm all for the wireless PSN access, but I don't own a PS3, and have no plans to anytime soon. So why not just add support for chat and voice into the system itself? I mean, ignoring the obvious part where they want you to spend 400+ on the PS3.

The PSP needs a unified friends list, or a messaging service badly. Skype doesn't count, none of my friends with PSPs have the slim.

I REALLY doubt that the PSP would be able to handle that...its just way too much for it to handle, probably the PSP2 has it, but the current system, I don't believe it can.

But yah, I do think that it might have been possible to also use PC as a server for PSP.

I completely agree that Sony can't add a unified chat system throughout all games right now. I'm OK with that though. I'd be happy enough with chat and messaging that you could get to through the XMB. Which is totally doable, after all GoMessenger did in Europe for the PSP.

Unified friends is not easy to do, so I understand that Sony can't pull it off this far into the game for the PSP. Just give me some way to communicate with friends who don't own slims, Sony.

Finally, Sony is adding what should have been there from the get go. The ad-hoc over the net has been enabled by 3rd party programs (Xlink Kai), but it's nice to see Sony doing it themselves.

If Im not wrong, Xlink worked differently, they used their own servers for ad-hoc, this one seems to use one's PS3 as the ad-hoc server...

Im not quite familiar with Xlink, I only used it once or twice, so if Im wrong, please point it out

I don't see the big hoopla about having a PSN store on the PSP. The PSP only uses 802.11b. b! You watch, next once we get the update, people will say, this is lame, it's slow fucking slow! Originally the PSP wasn't built to support wi-fi usage beside gaming. I'm all in support for the wi-fi store and PSP and I'm a Sony fanboy, but downloading a 25mb demo on the PSP will take probably 10 minutes even on a fast connection.

"Sony might as well slap a UMD drive on the next PS3 SKU."

If the past 7 or so SKUs are any indication, the only thing that's allowed to be added is HDD space. Everything else can only be removed.
