Smashing Pumpkins single to debut as GH: World Tour DLC

Aural squash annihilation news now, with Activision already promoting Guitar Hero: World Tour DLC in the form of a Smashing Pumpkins track pack. In addition to the hits "1979" and "The Everlasting Gaze," the downloadable pack will feature the exclusive debut of a new single dubbed "G.L.O.W." Unsurprisingly, you can expect the content to become available for download sometime after the game's launch later this year.

Those hoping to find lead singer Billy Corgan on the game's disc won't be disappointed either as, well, he's actually on there. Corgan will appear as an in-game and undoubtedly creepy character, singing and gyrating (probably) through the band's "Today," or whatever other career song you choose to fling at him. Be gentle.

Guitar Hero has been doing a thing recently by announcing great bands that aren't so-great anymore for DLC in World Tour.

Metallica, REM, now Smashing Pumpkins...

REM is better now than the rest, but at least we get some classic Smashing Pumpkins as well.

...I just wish and hope 1979 comes to Rock Band DLC because even though I'm getting the WT core game, I don't want to have to keep switching =(

Any news on whether or not the songs in said packs are going to be available separately? I still don't know if I'm getting GH4 yet, but I would definitely like to play 1979.

Hmm, songs like Sunkissed and Tarantula don't sound like schlock rock to me... I'm going to go ahead and say that you're full of shit.

Guitar Hero could get Stairway to Heaven and the Rock Band kiddies would find some way to spin it negative. Hell, they did with Ozzy and Jimi.

I don't hate on Guitar Hero for the songs they put in...

But its basically everything else. =/

I was disappointed at the graphics, the chart layouts... it doesn't even look better than RB1 in my eyes.

I'm only buying the core game to see if the music maker isn't as bad as it looks and the awesome exclusives they nabbed.

Hmmmm... if this new single is like any track from Zeitgeist, then I guess I'll hold out for the entire Siamese Dream album to drop on RB. ;)

Which button do you press to get the original lineup back together?

I don't get the attraction to adding the lead singers to GHWT. I mean, the point (at least of RB) is for YOU to be the band. Having your likeness being Corgan or Ozzy kind of defeats that purpose. I understand that they will let you create your own character and its all detailed and stuff, but whey even license the likeness of the real artists unless you're just going to sit back and watch?
