LittleBigPlanet's Nariko Sackgirl is Best Buy exclusive
Sony previously announced several planned pre-order bonuses for LittleBigPlanet, including custom downloadable "Sackboy" versions of God of War's Kratos and Heavenly Sword's Nariko. While the Ghost of Sparta went to GameStop, the official LBP blog has revealed that pre-ordering the game at Best Buy will land you a download voucher code for Nariko.
Both characters are über-spiffy, but, if you want both, you'll have to pre-order the game twice. No one's preventing you from avoiding it at one of the two stores when it's released, though. Oh no, certainly not us. Of course, you could always wait a bit for the characters to be made available for paid download via the PlayStation Store, something we're sure Sony would never think of doing, not in a million billion years.

That's fucking adorable.
Metal_Gear @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:37PM
If it had been Kai, I would be paying through the teeth to get it, but as it stands, I will be extremely happy with LBP on its own. Give me Old Snake I will make man/woman love to everyone involved in making LBP ^_^ (including the Beta members :P)
Microswirl (MKWii:1676- 4270-3674) @ Sep 3rd 2008 7:02PM
I'm pretty sure you can just make your own characters anyway. Go ahead make Snake, Kai, etc.
Titanium_Orchid @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:38PM
Can the pre-order skins be share-able like created items will be? I was planning on making a mound Olympus level so people can unlock the Kratos Skin
Wiinterfang @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:40PM
Too is not real.
Wiinterfang @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:44PM
too bad they are not real*
errrrr I blame the comment system >__>.
Hyams @ Sep 3rd 2008 5:31PM
They're working on making real plush Sackboys. =)
Jakka(Naked Peach Brigade) @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:41PM
Cute.Very fucking cute in fact.
There's one thing that bothers me though. If the editing options are as great as fanboys say they are(ie: Being able to make a video game character),what exactly stops you from making your own Nariko/Kratos/Snake rather than going through all this crap?
Hardcore @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:48PM
As if Sony is selling this. This is just a pre-order bonus, no extra fees there.
The_Punisher @ Sep 3rd 2008 5:12PM
Parts like the GoW chains and HS sword won't be available on the editor (on release day anyway). I'd assume other body parts are too.
Hyams @ Sep 3rd 2008 5:33PM
Character customisation will be pretty flexible, but you won't be able to make new clothes and stuff for them to wear.
You'll just have a massive list of different clothes and items for them to wear.
ANTCEP @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:41PM
its also on play.com for the uk
Snowblind @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:54PM
GAME (uk) have the Kratos one, for those who care, although they don't seem to be advertising that fact yet.
I'm personally more interested in the Nariko one though, I never understood the popularity of Kratos. Is it ever going to be possible to get both though, or are these absoloutely exclusive to pre-orders?
Dirty @ Sep 3rd 2008 5:00PM
I guess you brits arent down with a bald chain blade wielding bad-ass straight out of hades. Whats not to like.
Hyams @ Sep 3rd 2008 5:34PM
I can't make my mind up between the Kratos sackboy and the Nariko sackgirl.
This is the main reason I haven't yet pre ordered the game.
eNrique @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:46PM
While the two custom downloadable "Sackboy" versions are ultra-hardcore and ultra-cute, I rather play with my own custom Sackboy, and i hope everyone do the same.
Dirty @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:57PM
Agreed, isn't that the whole point of this game.
Snowblind @ Sep 3rd 2008 8:38PM
Yes, but I believe this just gives you the customisation parts, which you can use to make Nariko/Kratos, or for adding them to your own guy. For example, you could just give Kratos' sword to your own sackboy.
Michael K. @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:46PM
All you have to do is preorder it in a gamestop store and get the download voucher for the kratos one, then preorder it at a second place for a second bonus item you want (for me its Nariko since I dont care about the sticker book, level creator guide or the burlap bag), then once the game comes out buy the game at the second place and go to gamestop and get your deposit back (if they fuss about it all you have to do is say you didn't get the preorder bonus). That way you get two bonuses and get to screw over gamestop :)
j.howlett @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:47PM
whats the actual history of any preorder download bonus later getting paid dlc treatment. as much as i'd like to later purchase these skins, i've never seen the cynical notion bare fruit, on any platform.
FSK405K @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:47PM
No Kai? Nariko is a bit unrealistically proportioned to be a real woman (in the game, not the sock puppet version).
Dirty @ Sep 3rd 2008 5:01PM
Yea where are the sack girl implants?
Jakka(Naked Peach Brigade) @ Sep 3rd 2008 5:27PM
Rule 34 will correct that.
Maverick Saturn @ Sep 3rd 2008 8:04PM
Why, cos she doesn't look like Kasumi with big tits?
jimmygotsmack @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:51PM
Adorable, have the matching Kratos sackboy, for mock battles of flety cuteness.
Courtney @ Sep 3rd 2008 4:56PM
As has been said before on this topic, gimme a real plushie and I'm there. Freaking adorable.
Titanium_Orchid @ Sep 3rd 2008 5:03PM
I'm with you on this one. I would much rather prefer a physical sackboy as a pre-order bonus. Although I'm sure that some kind of doll will be available for purchase after the game comes out.
drybones @ Sep 3rd 2008 5:19PM
i'd so buy that if it was crash bandicoot :)
Immortal Technique PSN: johnnynumber5 @ Sep 3rd 2008 11:52PM
I would love a crash bandicoot as well.
Here is my question --
Why would Sony be promoting Nariko if they did not plan a Heavenly Sword 2?
I loved the first game -- thought it was incredible and one of my favorite games of all time -- it was just a little short.
playwhutyalike @ Sep 3rd 2008 5:31PM
You know, if I was playing video games more frequently, Little Big Planet would be the title that makes me buy a PS3.
ChuckJ @ Sep 3rd 2008 6:22PM
One word....G A Y.
Come on Sony fans. Talk up how bad you want this little stuffed "animal" so you can add it to your collections that sit on your beds and protect from the boogie man at night.
Microswirl (MKWii:1676- 4270-3674) @ Sep 3rd 2008 6:55PM
I'll put Sackboy on my shelf, right between my Marcus Fenix action figure and my ChuckJ TROLL doll.
LAZoftheTamarinds @ Sep 3rd 2008 8:00PM
FAIL dude.
This is a downloadable skin not a stuffed animal!
Maverick Saturn @ Sep 3rd 2008 8:01PM
ChuckJ is secretly insecure, he attacks the plusy but in fact gets mummy to read him stories at night. Its ok chuck, no need to be ashamed, you know you want it, just admit it, you're no less a man :)
dark_inchworm @ Sep 3rd 2008 8:14PM
Inferiority and homosexuality are two different things, you waste of sperm.
Kevlar @ Sep 3rd 2008 6:29PM
Haha.. I love how Sony's realized they've got a potential hit on their hands, and they're desperately building it up to be something huge, in a pathetic attempt to draw attention away from how much of a failure the PS3 has been so far.
It is cute, I'll admit. It's a neat game with a neat premise. Once the game is out, people will realize how hard it is to actually make levels and content, and the novelty will wear off a little bit, leaving a few people with the time to dedicate to making stuff still playing.
The PS3 has the potential to be big, yes. Sony is only starting to realize how to make that happen.
Hyams @ Sep 3rd 2008 6:43PM
Only just realized it's got potential?
Did you not know that LBP's working title was "The Next Big Thing"?
Maverick Saturn @ Sep 3rd 2008 8:03PM
Haha, I love how you plan out the future like as if you know whats going to happen when you haven't even played the game yet.
Snowblind @ Sep 3rd 2008 8:41PM
Fanboy comments aside, I actually agree to an extent. I think this'll be fun, to an extent, but nothing I've seen of the actual platforming looks particularly compelling. I'll no doubt play it for months, just creating content, but it all hinges on the actual gameplay being good.
And it's definitely being overhyped. I think the game is going to be great, for people like me who just enjoy creating things for the sake of it, but I predict a lot of disappointment upon release..
H Choi @ Sep 3rd 2008 7:51PM
Retail store exlusives are BULLSHIT!
MetalGearsOfSolidWar @ Sep 3rd 2008 8:29PM
My Kratos Sackboy will teabag my Nariko Sackgirl.
Hey Kevlar Halo is overrated and over hyped. Guess what 1 and 2 are still good games and 3 has good online.
LBP is over hyped, yeah so what. Dark Knight was over hyped and that still rocked. It doesn't matter about hype it isn't hurting the game none.
PS3 has outsold 360 all months this year so far. Thats not failure. And 2009 looks even better for the PS3.
You don't know how hard it is to make levels dumbshit, you haven't played it yet. Gears 2 will suck, oh wait I haven't PLAYED it yet.
And every good level takes time. You can't just have it at the snap of a finger.
TROLL
Snowblind @ Sep 3rd 2008 8:46PM
Little off topic, but I don't really get those comments about Halo. In my opinion the second game was the wrost in terms of story, beyond the really awesome intro.. the story felt very disjointed and hard to follow due to the character switching. It also had some of the worst and most tedious levels.
Halo 3 had some really great levels, and the story was handled perfectly. It wasn't as lacking as Halo 1, and it wasn't overkill, like Halo 2, it was just right, and the game itself had some really awe inspiring moments. Who wasn't blown away by the Forward Unto Dawn entering orbit and actually landing right infront of you, or finally getting to fight a scarab on foot?
If there's something people didn't like about Halo 3's campaign, I'm not seeing it.
jondastunna84 @ Sep 3rd 2008 8:49PM
serves me right, i speed read this whole article while i was on break in school. When i left i went to gamestop to pre-order it only to find out that i'm getting a digital sacktoy not a real plush one but then i started liken the idea better lol.
but i gotta question has anyone else has pre-ordered it on gamestop? cuz all they gave me was the receipt do i get the voucher also or thats just when the game is release that they give it to me with the game?
Rob Accomando @ Sep 3rd 2008 9:21PM
awesome. Another overhyped game give-away.
Little big Planet = PS3 SYSTEM SELLER!
michas_pi @ Sep 3rd 2008 11:17PM
Even though I have no plans on purchasing a PStriple or this game, that incredibly cute.
John @ Sep 4th 2008 1:47AM
If this was an actual plushie, it'd be an instant buy (then an instant ebay upon release), I loved HS. But LBP doesn't really interest me, about every PC game since unreal has had a level editor and I've never used them, so selling a level editor as a standalone game doesn't seem very appealing to me.
Plus as someone said before making levels is pretty hard. I've tried the unreal editor, RPGMaker etc, I'd rather play games, not pay to make one.
Kratos @ Sep 29th 2008 8:33AM
