No matter how many times Rare tries to tamp them down, rumors about a continuation of the Killer Instinct franchise continue to surface periodically. This time the rumors come from fan site MundoRare, which received the above photo of purported Killer Instinct 3 sheet music from an anonymous "someone at Microsoft."
Of course, this shot doesn't really prove anything -- that header at the top could just as easily read "ULTRA Punch Out!!" or "The MORE Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy" and work just as well. We're sure some photoshoppers out there will have their own ideas of what other big name sequels this photo could possibly confirm. What we're really interested in, though, is what this purported music actually sounds like. Anyone out there with some MIDI sequencer skillz want to help us out?
[Update: The community comes through! Check out the alleged theme as either a MIDI (thanks Dan H.) or a violin synth MP3 (via Giant Bomb)]
[Update 2: Check out this awesome remixed version of the "theme" (via NerdiestKids)]

May not necessarily be the sheet for the main instrument.

Ask and ye shall receive. It is a bit crude, but it gets the point across.

It's somebody banging the same note over and over on an instrument, slowly getting higher. And louder. I don't think you want to hear what it sounds like.

After seeing that sheet music (And hearing the midi) It makes total sense if you have that theme being played by a big heavy guitar. Then it becomes VERY KI..

I'm a HUGE Killer Instinct fan and was virtually unbeatable at Killer Instinct Gold using almost anyone (mainly TJ Combo). 60 hit super combos were tough to master, impossible to stop. I would buy a 360 immediately for this game. I'm getting one anyway for Gears 2, Fable 2, and FFXIII. Not for RE5, stupid controls change. Its the dumbest thing I've ever heard and i wont buy it until i know they'll include an option for the traditional Resident Evil controls.
On a minor note, Google Chrome is excellent, especially the built-in spell checker that checks your writing as you type. AND IT ACTUALLY SAVES THE E-MAIL/PASSWORD ON THIS SITE SO YOU DONT HAVE TO TYPE IT IN!

I'd take a new Dizzy game. The title screen music for Dizzy's Adventure is like the catchiest thing ever.

That's definitely a string part, but it's sad how simple it is. And it's missing a few key components required for a scoring session, namely, the part name... so either it's fake or it's an early copy.

Oops!
The violin player messed up that last note. I didn't see a tie over the last bar line. :-p

It looks more like a background part. For lets say a viola, 2nd or 3rd trumpet ,and who says it has to be a symphonic instrument it could be a simple synth part.

@Jed
Based on its clef, it would NOT be for a Viola. I know this from experience as one who plays that particular instrument. The clef it is in is Treble. Most parts for the Viola are mainly Alto, with some use of treble.
Even though this has alot of repeating notes, I could see this being a string part. There are two sections of violins typically in a orchestra: the first violins, and the second violins. This could be a second violin part?

The other thing I noticed in the picture, that the sheet music isn't a final copy. Someone scribbled in a Mezzo Piano over a Mezzo Forte. The page numbers at the bottom of the page are also cut off.
