See PSN title Savage Moon in action

We've just watched the first, straight-from-PAX video of upcoming PSN title Savage Moon (don't worry, we've put it after the break for you) and it looks (as Sony said it would) like a sophisticated tower defense game, albeit a really attractive one.

We do have one quibble we feel compelled to pass on though: The decision to put crowd noises into the game is a bizarre one. They're almost louder than the guns! C'mon, Sony, get it together! Who wants to hear that?!

PJM is too bloody hard.
30 mins of performing nicely, and you get completely mashed by having the wrong type of tower in the wrong place. :-(

what, you mean like all the flash games and custom maps for WC3? Ohter than that there is Pixel Junk Monsters... nowhere near the saturation of something like RTS, and TD games lend to the console ALOT better than RTS.

Umm... how many FPS games do we have? RPGs? Now, how many tower defense games are on consoles? One? Is there one for the Wii or XBox?

You can have much more variation in a FPS, RPG or RTS than you can with a TDG.

I mean, Savage Moon basically looks like Pixel Junk Monsters, only with a different art style and the ability to go into first person view.

It's almost like buying the same game twice.

It looks completely different that PJM. They are the same genre but the same could be said for any game. thats like saying that Battlefield Bad Company is the same game as Halo just with a different story, universe, characters, gameplay modes and weapons. Doesn't make sense at all.

PJM is VERY hard.

Yeah, but Halo 3 and Bad Company play very differently. Honestly, watching the above video, the gameplay in Savage Moon looks almost identical to PJ Monsters.

The only substational difference I can see is the cool first person view mode.

I dunno, maybe I'm just missing something. *shrugs*

PJM is absurdly hard! i bought it and havent really played it much cause its so damn difficult. hopefully they drop that easy mode patch pretty soon.

PJE is right in the groove difficulty wise. although i think im stuck on the last Spectra in Garden 6 right now (i just cant seem to find the last one).

For consoles, we need more TD games, especially ones with co-op. My wife and I had too much fun with PJM, and actually appreciated the difficulty of it.

Crowd noises...good one Joystiq. Looks like Sony has another quality PSN title on the way. The PSN is really starting to come into its own as well as the Blu-ray games.

Ok, I am sorry. I was excited about creating a Pastafarian Heaven level in LBP. Again, I meant no insult to anyone's beliefs. I don't know how else I can say it...so I will say no more on this thread.

I was also trying to have a little fun but I forgot that FUN is not looked at in a positive light here. Most of you are too serious for me, and occasionally I forget that.

I know LBP is off topic but FRACK, I have never been more excited about a videogame EVAR!!! I will say it again, LBP will be the DEFINING game on the PS3, just as big as GTA was for the PS2.

I just wanted to go out of my way to tell you I got no problem with what your beliefs are. this is really not the place for that.

We still need to play something on PSN sometime soon. I am down for whatever. GT:P, Hot Shots, Soul Caliber, Battlefield Bad Co, MLB 08 or whatever else you want to play.

Did you pick up Disgaea 3 yet???

Speaking of RPG's I am going to start a new playthrough of Folklore -- which is an awesome game.

The PS3 is starting to actually get some RPG's now.

Yes LBP has me excited like the dickens. I know once that game comes out no other game will matter for a long long time. It sucks because we got so many fantastic games and PS3 exclusives coming out around the holiday season.

Being able to switch to a first person view is a nice touch. Presumably this gives you full manual control of what the turret shoots at?

But apart from that, I don't think this really does anything new enough to really warrant a purchase. Still, you never know, maybe it still has a trick or two up its sleeve.

That is for installs, downloads, saves, music and movies.

I know it will work I just want to make sure it will work exactly like my internal one. Would hate to buy an external HDD and find out you cant use it for installs and what not.

Nope, I've tried with my external HDD, which works great for playing music and vids, but games won't install on it.

PJM won't let me and my friend play the ice level on the expansion even though we've beaten all the other levels on Easy. So it's slowly gaining some bad marks in my book.

Can't wait for this to come out so I can have a little change of pace when im not feeling the PJM style.
