Call of Duty: World at War confirmed to deploy Nov. 11
A couple of weeks back during X08, we learned that the "fall" release time frame Activision had been giving for the latest Call of Duty installment actually meant "November." Today, the publisher narrowed it down even further to November 11. That's the date all console versions of Call of Duty: World at War will rumble into retail – except, of course, for the never-to-be PS2 version. Those hankering for an earlier taste of multiplayer flame thrower action should hit our post from earlier today on the upcoming October beta.

COD is returning to the WW2 era and is shipping around the same time as Gears2.
Yep, this is me not caring about COD:WaW.

If it's anything like COD 4 MP this game overtakes gears for me...until L4D comes out.

Although I do agree for plenty of TF2 to keep the doctah! away (or near if you're a heavy), L4D is going to be an awesome game. Maybe you wouldn't get it immediately but it's gonna be worth picking up.

What better way to celebrate Remembrance Day than to glorify the loss of thousands by killing eachother online!
Shmil @ Sep 4th 2008 7:54PM
really?
Alexander @ Sep 4th 2008 9:26PM
Remembrance Day is for World War I.
TheAzureKnight @ Sep 4th 2008 6:44PM
Thanks but I think I'll PASS...
Too many good games coming out for the 360 as it is.
Obie @ Sep 4th 2008 6:53PM

I might rent this sucker tho.
SativaSam @ Sep 4th 2008 6:57PM
Call of Duty 18, coming this Fall to a store near you.
Rick @ Sep 4th 2008 6:57PM
I don't get it. IGN had this date posted weeks ago on their release date list. Joystiq, were you on vacation or something?
@tomic @ Sep 4th 2008 7:04PM
Even with the lack of good games coming to Wii in 2008, I'll still be pretty much ignoring this one. The WWII theme is boring as hell and it's been beaten to death on top of that.
Still have Tales of Symphonia 2 to look forward to this year, so it's all good.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Sep 4th 2008 9:45PM
>it's been beaten to death on top of that.
Yes because Modern combat is something that has never been done before. Please. Modern combat, also futuristic combat has also been done to death. In fact the fps genre as a whole has been done to death so there's really no point complaining about WW2.
MrSpaceCowboy @ Sep 4th 2008 7:31PM
And when it's released, Michael Phelps will be sitting on his couch, giant burger in one hand, PS3 controller in the other and a Mr T amount of gold around his neck.
I have foreseen this.
Seanross @ Sep 4th 2008 7:38PM
Meh, I want all three GOW2, COD:WAW, and L4D
theturtle363 @ Sep 4th 2008 7:53PM
more sensible words have, well okay there's probably a lot more profound and sensible words said, but those are good enough
Sam @ Sep 4th 2008 8:04PM
Veteran's Day? Really?
WRE @ Sep 4th 2008 8:46PM
Burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Sep 4th 2008 9:51PM
I'll definitely be picking this up.
