Play with Mercenaries 2 devs, 'catch' an Achievement

One of the more ... interesting Achievements in the Xbox 360 version of Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is the 50-point "Everybody Wants Some," which is earned by playing online with one of the game's developers, or someone who's already played with them. Yep, it's contagious. Actually, it's sort of like the STD of Live Achievements, if you'll pardon the icky analogy.

We think it'd be pretty cool to hear the 360 "Achievement Unlocked" sound in real life every time we came down with a cold or other ailment. Hear that Microsoft? Get on it – after all, you were all about "Live Anywhere." Mercs 2's devs will be playing September 5 through 12 using special easy-to-grok Gamertags, which we've listed after the break. Now, go forth and expose yourself to viral goodness.

Also GRAW, and several other shooters...Shadowrun did it to if im not mistaken, this is hardly an original achievment, barely worth a mention in fact...

Agreed. To be perfectly honest with you, I played Spiderman 3 longer than Mercs 2. I don't know what it is about it, I can generally overlook a few bugs (I LOVED Oblivion) but it just makes me angry to play the game.

They did do this, except the achievement WAS an STD. You got the achievement by teabagging some one who already had the achievement. It's probably my favorite achievement of all time.

got to keep away from those STD achievements, they only cause pain down the road, and the fact that your 360 might break out with 3 red lights a month later.

I was really hesitant to get Mercenaries 2 after reading the initial batch of reviews, but a friend was excited about it so I picked it up. Yeah, the AI is kind of stupid but the game is a ton of fun. Think GTA4 + Crackdown and you get Mercenaries 2. The major advantage over GTA4: the longer missions have checkpoints. The major advantage over Crackdown: a lot more of a story, less of the "over and over" that was the Crackdown "story". All in all, I would say Mercs 2 is about an 8.5 and if you play it multiplayer it is a 9.0.

That's a good review but sadly I have to go to the Ancient Canada this month so I won't be able to play anything new this month and after checking the schedule that's mean no Gears 2 for me.

I think I'd have a higher personal score for Mercs 2 if the last two actiony type games I played weren't GTAIV and Uncharted.

I got something similar in GTA 4 and it was the first kill I got so I don't believe you really have to kill a dev or someone who killed one but just kill someone.

I think the SKX achievement in Condemned is more satisfactory.

No one else has mentioned it (probably because no one else bought it. sigh) but Marathon: Durandal also had an achievement exactly like this.

You got the achievement by playing against one of the devs or someone who already has the achievement, not like Shadowrun's similar-but-not-the-same-at-all achievement.
