When our parents split up, both of them tried to convince us that the other would just be "devastated" if they didn't get to have custody of us. (Puzzlingly, each insisted that the other had just bought a pony and ice cream farm, which doesn't even make sense.) Why are we choosing this Thursday morning to flashback to that awkward moment? Once again, we don't know who to believe.
Last month, VG247 had a super secret Rockstar source telling them that the Grand Theft Auto IV DLC wouldn't be available until January. Now, Eurogamer has a different super secret source saying that things are still on track for a November release. We don't know which one is telling the truth, and we don't care ... we just want one of them to love us.

I bet it's going to just be new weapons and missions set in the same old Liberty City. Still though should be cool. But what is more interesting is that we know NOTHING about it. Even if it is released in March that's 8 months away. 8 months before GTA4 we had screens and all sorts of info. I guess R

The word is that the DLC is two 10 hour mission packs. I really don't see how that was worth 50 million from MS. So much for those whole new island rumors.

I'm not even close to being finished with the on-disk content yet. As much as I love the game, I have a lot of trouble playing it for more than a few hours at a time. As far as I'm concerned, I'm in no hurry for more content.

So I can be beating people up with double dildos in a gimp suit, revving my chainsaw at passers by and toasting any cars that are better than mine with my flame thrower in November? And also download GTA IV DLC?

I'm getting the feeling that the "360 exclusive" stuff is going to be on the disappointing side. Probably a mission pack that will remain exclusive to the 360 for all of a year, and then show up on PSN and as a disc-based add-on.
Worse, it might end up being a bunch of downloadable things like new cars, new skins for characters, new buildings, or new weapons.
I don't feel bad dumping my 360 for a PS3. I really don't think I'll be missing anything on GTA IV, in the end.

I was looking at the last post (aug 28th) by joystick. I can't believe all the losers who are bitching! They're all like "who the hell still plays this anyway?" 8 months does not make a game like this obsolete! Unless you've stayed in your parents basement playing it the entire time. I hate these uber-snobs who turn their nose up at anything that's more than 4 months old, and think that makes them cool or hardcore. I would like to be there when their parents finally kick them out and it dawns on them that stuff isn't free. This game is one that should have a permanent place in any gamers collection anyway and should be enjoyable for years, not weeks. If your attention span is that short, than you shouldn't be playing video games anyway cause you're a chihuahua, and chihuahuas are too stupid to play video games. Which means you probably just sit there chewing the controller up, pausing occasionally to lick your stitches or bark at your own ass. Personally, I'm still playing the hell out of mine (GTA4, not my ass) and also other, much older games as well. (Still got tetris on the original game boy.)I still play Crackdown, Bio-shock, Far-Cry, Halo 1,2,and 3, Resident Evil 4(game cube), Zelda and other games.

if it were more like any other gta from the 3 series i'd have to agree. as much as i enjoy playing 4 it's just not the same. it feels more like a well excuted gta clone, and sometimes more of a bother than joy to play. i kinda feel let down after waiting all that time and having more freedom in the older games.

But... GTA4 was a huge let down... I play GTA San Andreas still on PC, heck I am currently re-playing Final Fantasy 9 on my PS3. No one is turning their nose up at the game because it is a few month old, they are turning their nose up because quiet frankly, the game wasn't as good as we were led to believe. Good, but not great.
Obviously I wont see this DLC but if all it is is some more 'Go there and kill them missions' I will be glad I cant get it. In a weird and twisted way, I want this DLC to be good just so Rockstar can proove that they havent lost 'it'.
