X3F TV -- Watch the Rock Band song export process

Now that Harmonix has released a title update to allow users to transfer songs from the original Rock Band into Rock Band 2, we thought it might be helpful to post a video walkthrough of the whole process. It's pretty simple, actually. All that's required is about 10 minutes and 400

($5). Check out the video above to see the whole process from start to finish (minus the boring bits).

[iTunes] Subscribe to X3F TV directly in iTunes.
[Zune] Subscribe to the X3F TV directly (Zune Marketplace link coming soon).
[RSS] Add the X3F TV feed to your RSS aggregator and have the show delivered automatically.
[M4V] Download the M4V of the first section of this video directly.

so i guess RB2 is using the same save folder or will it create a new one when i first put it in

It will probably use it's own. That doesn't mean the game can't read what's in the RB 1 folder.

Apparently none of it. My guess is there will be a code in RB2 to get the 20 free DLC tracks at launch.

i cant fucking wait for RB 2. this is sooooo much better than GH 4.

One question though, why is is that I never have any ads on my 360? I've yet to see one...

Your age is under 18. As long as your age in your profile is under 18, you won't get ads, but you also can't download M-rated demos/game videos and there is no way to have a parent allow it.

It is *very* annoying. Even though M is rated as "Age 17 or older", you must be 18 to download the demos.

Oh yes, I know. I'm glad I can download M-rated arcade games though. The demos get on my nerves, since I technically am old enough to play the games. Argh.

Yes it is. Nothing better than a chase scene with that music.

So, if I were to buy Rock Band 2, rent the original Rock Band game, then pay the $5, I would be able to play all of those songs in Rock Band 2? There's no check to make sure you still own the original Rock Band? Are the songs profile locked? Can you export the songs multiple times with one license?

Also, why do I no longer receive emails when I get a reply?

It says that songs can be deleted after the transfer. If I delete a song, will I be able to transfer it again without paying another $5?

the really question is, why would you want to play these again when we have been playing them for the last year? If you do this just sell ur rock band game since u have everything on it.

So, in theory, could i borrow my mates copy of rock band and import the songs into my RB2 (as well as him doing it), so long as I buy the licence? Or is there something to stop this?

So..... what about DLC? That's already stored on the hard drive, will RB2 just see it and pick it up. I must have missed something.

Yup. Rock Band 1 DLC will work with RB2 right out of the box.

What if you export the songs and delete some of your least favorite songs cough*creep*cough and then realize you want it back? Can you re-export the tracks for free at will? or is it limited to 1 time-use?

How come your castle crashers theme has a sick animation in the background?

The ripple effect is from my Vision Camera.

Hey, how do you get that water effect on the dashboard? It's pretty cool. I'd like to know how to do that.

For that you need the Live Vision Camera. Once you have it press the guide button and go to "Personal Settings/Themes/Customize/Camera Effect".

So my question is, after saving these songs to your hard drive. You come home with RB2. pop it in, ( and i would assume there would be and import option) do these songs stay in your hard drive, or make a new RB2 save? use the existing RB save?

Richard, are you on a 4:3 TV or is that just the way the video came out? I thought Dustin was the last one to get on the HD bandwagon.

Promised Land is a free DLC.
