PS3 Rock Band PAX pack not working
Members of the Rock Band forums are reporting issues with this week's PAX DLC for PS3 owners. According to users, the pack just won't work. Apparently, the tracks are available in the game but get stuck on the loading screen.
We've sent requests to Harmonix and Sony to clarify what the problem is and when users can expect a fix. This would be the second time in recent memory that something has gone technically wrong with Rock Band's DLC.
Update: Redownloading the pack now should work. Otherwise, the incoming patch should do it automatically for your lazy buttocks.

Harmonix also had to yank an Offspring 3-pack at the last minute, even after it had already been advertised on XBLM last week.
They appear to be going through a few bumps in the transition to RB2.
Hopefully, the patch they released on XBox 360 yesterday (and coming soon to PS3) will get all of this stuff sorted out.

they didn't yank it, it was announced prematurely. They said they never intended to release it at that time.

Uhhh... really? I haven't had any issues. My buddy and I played "Skullcrusher Mountain" six or seven times yesterday. Can't wait to finally sing it later today, though bass and guitar on it are really fun too.

The problem is with "Dude and Catastrophe" and the PAX Pack itself.
If downloaded as singles, "Skullcrusher" and "Shh..." work fine.

AH! hehe. The one song we didn't want, and so we didn't download the whole pack. Ended up saving us. Kickass!
All respect for Mr. Frontalot and his awesome music, we just didn't care for the song as far as playing it on Rock Band goes.

Skullcrusher Mountain is a fine example of a fun song that doesn't require insane charts and long solos.
Just humorous lyrics and a catchy melody.
Now we need Coulton's Baby Got Back cover... (or a Coulton 3-pack?)

I wonder if this is tied to this week's title update. HMX may have updated all of the DLC to account for the title update, but the PS3 doesn't have that yet.
This should prove interesting. The RB forums were ablaze with people who were complaining that the PAX Pack sucked and HMX failed for releasing it to the masses.
It'll be fun to see how many of those same people will now light the forums ablaze because the content they don't want anyway isn't working.

those forums are always ablaze with idiots complaining about something like it's really important. They are hardly worth caring about!

Haha that is why XBox360 is the best. The PS3 had a DLC issue that they will probably correct soon and the 360 didn't, therefore the 360 is the best in the world. Woooooh, I knew I was smart to buy a 360!! Yeah!! Go Me!!

Shap...
Haggard @ Sep 5th 2008 1:53PM
Your satire of a fanboy amused me... almost.
Farseer (GDI) @ Sep 5th 2008 2:37PM
Yeah, I agree with Haggard. It was too forced to be amusing. Let me give it a try...

I guarantee that these problems wouldn't exist if RB was 360 exclusive. The PS3 is notoriously difficult to program for, and because they released the game on the PS3 as well as the 360, they both suffer.
If you're listening Harmonix, moar 360 exclusives plz. Don't make us suffer for Sony's bad decisions.
domgbrown @ Sep 5th 2008 4:13PM
Psssh, whatever, 360 sucks. Of course you're going to have a couple minor issues when you are trying to add extra content to the most powerful machine on earth, dumbass. What do you think is harder to do: add a turbo charger on a honda civic (SucksBox360) or a F-18 Raptor fighter jet (PS3)??!? Suck it Trebek, PS3 FTW.
Farseer (GDI) @ Sep 5th 2008 5:24PM
lol - touche.
I specifically like the F-18 Raptor fighter jet reference.
