Sting gets MoCapped in Guitar Hero: World Tour preview
Have you been curious about what Sting would look like all wire-framey and covered in ping-pong balls ever since you heard the news that the former Police frontman would make an appearance in Guitar Hero: World Tour? Good news, our little Desert Roses -- you need not look further than a recent promo for the title which we've conveniently posted after the break. We know that you usually rest your clickin' finger during the weekend, but we assure you, making the jump is worth it -- not only do you get to see Mr. Sumner's digital manifestation in action, you also get to hear about his lack of prowess when it comes to jamming on fake plastic instruments (though we hear his tantric usage of Star Power is a breathtaking sight to behold).

Red Leader @ Sep 7th 2008 3:29PM
How very clever of you.
Hafk @ Sep 6th 2008 2:34PM
Didn't you guys already post an article on this? It might not have said Mo-cap, but when a character is put into the game, I think it is implied.
Jevanzz @ Sep 6th 2008 3:17PM
It's Sting this time, not Billy Corgan.
David @ Sep 6th 2008 2:43PM
Sting PLEASE crawl through my computer screen you hot, gorgeous, beautiful man. I can't take it anymore!!
Brian @ Sep 6th 2008 3:13PM
Pray this doesn't lead to Lute Hero.
j.howlett @ Sep 7th 2008 3:15PM

T @ Sep 6th 2008 3:35PM
Cool! Sting and Billy Corgan are in this? Awesome!
Now. Can we actually find out what SONGS we'll be playing in World Tour?
Afterall, that WAS the original intent of Guitar Hero right? To play along to your favorite songs....?
zombiejesus @ Sep 6th 2008 4:04PM
you wish that's what this game was about
Jakka(Naked Peach Brigade) @ Sep 6th 2008 5:32PM
They've announced over 80% of the Songs already. Check out Wikipedia's page on GTWT.

"Now. Can we actually find out what SONGS we'll be playing in World Tour?"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_Hero_IV#Setlist
68 confirmed songs. The information is out there if you look.
T @ Sep 7th 2008 10:06AM
It's a song list compiled from multiple sources, half of which maybe are Activision.
Several confirm songs were "recorded for Guitar Hero" but don't indicate if it's DLC or on-disc (see multiple songs from a single artists on-disc)
Don't point me towards the wiki article. I helped MAKE the wiki article. I know exactly what the sources are.
John @ Sep 6th 2008 4:34PM
Could they get any more has beens? I mean aerosmith, sting, metallica, who's next activision? how about phil collins? He's pretty hardcore shit.
Jakka(Naked Peach Brigade) @ Sep 6th 2008 5:40PM
Aerosmith are the best-selling Hard Rock Artists in US, Sting(and The Police) sold over 50 Million CD's worldwide and Metallica is essentially a synonym of Metal Genre.
Oh, and they're all in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame.I'm not sure if they can get any more "hardcore".Maybe they could try it Ozzy Style? Is biting bat's head off hardcore enough for you?
John @ Sep 7th 2008 12:17PM
Cause I really wanna rock out with fields of gold, Metallica hasn't had a good album in 20 years, and aerosmith is the teenybopper ballad band.
Why not get bands that people who don't listen to top 40 shit care about.
John Z @ Sep 7th 2008 9:30PM
It's called Frets on Fire, dude. "Obscure Unintelligible-Lyrics Death Metal Hero", sadly, doesn't sell terribly well.
Jakka(Naked Peach Brigade) @ Sep 6th 2008 6:20PM
Speaking of which, that picture made my day:

Sadly enough, bit of Stairway and Smoke on the Water is all I can play really :(
DakranII @ Sep 6th 2008 11:41PM
Isn't that from Wayne's World?
Jakka(Naked Peach Brigade) @ Sep 7th 2008 6:20AM
Yeah, they had this gag but this was an in-joke in Guitar Shops worldwide way before the movie was even released.
Waqman @ Sep 6th 2008 7:49PM
Thats awesome...I swear they are slowly tempting me to go the GH route away from Rock Band...but I guess I could just pick up the Guitar Hero drums seperately and pick up both GH and Rock Band 2. Problem solved.
doubleofive @ Sep 6th 2008 8:33PM
I want to see Ozzy covered in ping pong balls getting mo capped while mumbling about "bloody plastic guitars".
Derick @ Sep 7th 2008 2:22PM
don't we all wish we can age like fine wine like him? Tantric sex ftw!
