Design a Sackboy or Sackgirl for LittleBigPlanet DLC

Have you fired many a condescending moan at the lead characters of most chart-topping blockbusters over the past few years, commenting on how the protagonist of your homebrew first-person shooter, Hellkiller, is so much more original and marketable? Perhaps it's time you put your unsung character design skills to work -- we suggest entering a contest recently posted by LittleBigPlanet creator Media Molecule to create a clever outfit for the game's texturized heroes, Sackboy and Sackgirl.

One winner from America, Japan and Europe will be chosen from the entries, and the winning designs will be posted as free DLC for the title "in the near future". Applicants, who must be 13 years or older to enter, simply need to draw a costume over a Sackboy template on the LittleBigPlanet site, and email it to Media Molecule. They don't mention this in the rules, but we imagine equipping the mascot-worthy protagonist with intricately drawn reproductive organs is grounds for immediate disqualification.

I hope that Sackboy becomes a staple among well-recognized video game characters. The little guy ((and gal)) are just too adorable not to be mascots.

Anyway. This is a very cool contest. Though it would have been an added bonus if the community could somehow vote on the entries, too. Like, allowing the entries to be voted on, picking a top 5 based on those who scored best, and then Media Molecule choosing from those.

Still, excited to see what people come up with.

Would be much more interesting if they released Sackboy Creator as a part of the LBP Open Beta - Something like what Maxis did with Spore Creature Creator.

they actually do say that in the rules. also, make sure not to copy any mascots, here are the actual rules in the post:
# Your SackBoy costume should be all your own work; don’t use existing logos or designs, content or imagery created by someone else. So that means no Spidey or Mr T costumes, you crazy fool!
# Only one costume design can be submitted per person.
# Do not resize the template – YxZ is just perfect the way it is.
# Only JPEG Format will be accepted for your design submissions.
# No questionable content; by that we mean stuff that’s illegal, gross or otherwise likely to give us nightmares.
# Further contest terms and conditions can be found here.

Given what the internets consider to be gross, illegal or nightmare inducing, that's till pretty vague.

What if someone on that staff is terrified of adorable kittens and immediately disqualifies any sackboy kitten mockups? That seems terribly unfair. Of course, given the adorable value of sackboy combined with the adorable value of cute kittens, such a combination could result in shattering the fabric of reality due to exceeding the adorable quotient allocated to any one creation. Perhaps it would be best if someone on the judging committee does have nightmares about kittens.

Yeah a lot of the submissions that I have seen so far are of copyrighted characters. I posted on their (mayh3m210 is my psn id) trying to make sure people got the point that this needed to be an original creation, but I don't feel it got through to everyone. No big deal, I already submitted mine:
