Weekly Webcomic Wrapup slept in
"Huh, what time is it?" asked the webcomic wrapup as it crawled out of bed, reaching for its Pip Boy alarm clock that did not yet exist.
"It's 5 o'clock," said the omniscient narrator.
"Why is there so much sunlight, then?"
"It's 5 o'clock P.M."
"Oh no, I was supposed to get this up earlier today!"
"Correction, it's Sunday."
"Oh no, I'm a day late!"
"Correction, it's Sunday, September 7. You're over a week late."
"... @!#?@!"

Just to poke holes in the Digital Unrest comic.. Starkiller isn't the Apprentices' name, it's just a codename, and is only meant as a reference to Luke's originally name.
And secondly, none of the books that covered this timeline in the past are considered canon, they're part of the Extended Universe, and therefor subject to be overwritten by actual canon work, as Force Unleashed has just done.
Anyway, once again, Penny-Arcade is the only one I found even remotely amusing.
Wubbytoes @ Sep 7th 2008 8:42PM
Thanks a lot webcomic killjoy. :p
Courtney @ Sep 7th 2008 9:19PM
How many people actually know the difference between official canon and the "extended universe"? If it contradicts what people have previously experienced in the Star Wars universe, it creates the appearance of violating canon. Except, of course, for people who obsess of knowing what is and isn't canon. Appearance is usually as powerful as reality, sometimes moreso.
That said, the comic wasn't funny anyway.
t_m @ Sep 7th 2008 9:28PM
force unleashed is considered cannon?
good god...
Tez (PSN: Tezasaurus) @ Sep 8th 2008 12:19AM
Dude, Phantom Menace is considered canon.
Wah-hah-ha! @ Sep 7th 2008 7:18PM
You guys made up for it with the good PAX coverage, i think
Anyhoo, i voted for Digital Unrest because of the reference to the destruction of star wars canon, but they were all enjoyable, except DA which i didn't get
Technically, if they had kept what the books first established as canon, the Clone Wars would have taken place about 40 years (estimate laid out in Zahn's Thrawn trilogy) before the events of Episode IV, rather than the 20 that was established in the Prequels
Ross Miller @ Sep 7th 2008 9:04PM
Appreciate it, and yes essentially, PAX and catching up with school is why I lost the WWW rhythm that I so rarely cling to in the first place.

Dueling Analogs was referencing Killer Instinct, which calls out increasingly intense names as your combo increases until you reach the Ultimate Combo level, which means you're kicking some ass. The other common joke referencing it is c-c-c-combo breaker, which was an essential move due to the ease of combos in the game. By the way, it's an awesome game (but you do have to learn the moves a little bit, which was why some of them for every character were on the decal surrounding the screen).
Ranus Studios @ Sep 7th 2008 7:20PM
I voted for DA out of some sort of strange Killer Instinct fan obligation.
Neebs @ Sep 7th 2008 7:24PM
Bad week, but DU.
Obie @ Sep 7th 2008 7:29PM
Dueling Analogs for keeping it simple and KI awesomeness!
Almadi @ Sep 7th 2008 7:31PM

Duhhh, sorry bout that.
Checked the archives and it was already featured.

Dear Robot Martini cartoonist:
The 20GB PS3 had full backwards compatability. What it lacked were the integrated wi-fi and memory card reader.
Can't view 2PStart. Gives me a database error.
Think I'll go with Castle Vidcons this week.
El Verde @ Sep 8th 2008 11:50AM
I think you've proved my point quite nicely!
OMGOMG @ Sep 7th 2008 7:37PM
Sorry, this has to be said here.
Tom Brady: out for the year.
Wow. Just wow.
Zachary Hinchliffe @ Sep 7th 2008 7:52PM
as a lifelong patriots fan, I can only say one thing...
shit sucks
Titanium_Orchid @ Sep 7th 2008 7:59PM
Tough choice between DA and MNC. I voted for DA though, because simplicity is beautiful.
Slim Daniels @ Sep 7th 2008 8:09PM
Dork Towers hit the perfect note on that instrument of satire this weekend. They get my vote!

WiNG [Life in a Game] @ Sep 7th 2008 8:52PM
Killer Instinct ftw
Zertoss @ Sep 7th 2008 9:13PM
Castle Vidcons. That asshole heckling Xbox always makes me laugh. I especially liked that he was eating a leg of Wright's creature in the last panel.
TX2 @ Sep 7th 2008 9:23PM
If castle vidcons doesn't make it this week I'll have lost faith in the system.
j.howlett @ Sep 7th 2008 10:38PM
if i could ever see the whole comic any more i would give it a vote sometime
Imadogg @ Sep 8th 2008 12:49AM
Seriously.
SergeXIII @ Sep 8th 2008 12:47AM
Got some Disgaea 3 comics this week at

Patient J @ Sep 8th 2008 8:52AM
Oh, a political statement, so clever!
How can anyone not consider DA funny? That's clever and as far as I know, original. Nice art, too, which is one reason why VidCons never gets my vote. Great way to experiment with style, but i have to look at a panel for 20 seconds to be sure what I'm looking at.
meist3r @ Sep 8th 2008 9:23AM
Love that the Dork Tower one, which is the strongest this week, is dated 2001 and still fits perfectly.
2PStart is still down apparently.
j.howlett @ Sep 8th 2008 10:51AM
i liked it too, i see nothing wrong with any of the 4 things, it's the guy's reaction to the four things that was funny.
Wiinterfang @ Sep 8th 2008 10:16AM
That's funny I could swear I left a comment here yesterday.
Anyway I'm going for the ultimate combo.
Mr.ESC @ Sep 8th 2008 11:47AM
Dork Tower,Oh man that brings me some good memories from when I used to play Magic the gathering,Yu-gi-oh and Mage Knight.
But PA was really awesome.
343 Guilty Fart @ Sep 8th 2008 2:40PM
I didn't get PA at all. Where did the guy with the pac-man shirt come from, was he inside the trailer too?
El Verde @ Sep 8th 2008 1:04PM
Thanks again for featuring Sidescroller. Also for introducing the world to Castle Vidcons. Delicious, delectable idiosyncrasy!
