Bungie: Leaked Achievements legit, coming by month's end

There's been quite a bit of mystery and confusion regarding Halo 3 lately, which is almost exactly what was happening at this time last year. It's enough to make one nostalgic. Bungie spokesman Luke Smith recently waded in to try to clear up some of what's in store for the game and its still-thriving community.

First, the list of Achievements you saw here recently is on the money, though Smith isn't talking about all of them. What he will say is that they're part of Title Update 2, which is due before the end of the month. TU2 will also include some under-the-hood stuff, a separate military rating in each playlist and a new type of ban. According to Smith, it's a "spike on the banhammer [that] will soon drip wet with the blood of jerks and the innards of sinners." Sounds delightful.

Funny story.

Last weekend I felt like playing Halo 3 which was weird because the game is not exactly my cup of tea (please don’t ask) but what was even more weird is that my friends also felt like playing Halo after all these months.

Maybe was for the updates, the saturation of news about Halo or maybe the stuff Ms puts in the water but I have to say it wasn’t as bad as I remember in fact I had fun pwning the n00bs (Until I had lag) and everybody in the other team hated me for killing their Vip 6 times in a row.

Everything was good until I tried to do the last 3 achievements I needed then everything was incredibly frustrating since the Spartan Laser in painfully slow, by the time I got the sword everyone was dead or just at the other side of the map and getting 4 kills in a row well I got double, double kill WTF with that? (Potential achievement unlock.)

Well Halo still has potential, I know saying this sounds kinda dumb because is one of the most popular games ever but what I’m trying to say is that Halo could be seen as one of the best online games (Instead of the ahole of the xlive community) if they made changes in the playlist and allow people to choose the map and playlist instead of appearing randomly although a random special event would be nice like Swordplay and stuff (Last night everything was Slayer BF).

One of these days I’ll get those darn achievements but I fell some maps are very large for the amount of players in them.

Finally I hope developers realize that online achievements are more frustrating than fun so I hope I can do these in any type of match like in TF2.That would make things better.

(During my Halo madness this last weekend I also bought Final Fantasy IV for the Ds and in retrospective I ask myself why)

Next in the list:FFIV and COD4 madness.

no no no, you misunderstood me. You are not a miserable bastard at all. I just remember you posting rants about why you don't enjoy Halo 3 and I always found your arguments very flawed, like unbalanced weapons.

what i'm saying is that i'm glad you took the time to play it again and realize that its a much better game than you originally though

Mr. Esc - With the upcoming update they're making Lone Wolves an 8 player playlist, so it will (hopefully) be a bit easier to get some of those harder achievements (I had a game of Swords last night but just couldn't get that triple kill, aargh).

I noticed this weekend that Halo had over half a million people online, that's the most I've seen since launch. Wow.

I noticed that too, and I think that number might have been the product of some error in the system. On Saturday night at 8 PM EST (peak hours) when I was playing, there were only 40K players online, and fewer than 6000 in Team Slayer (easily the most popular ranked playlist). I have a feeling that 400K on Sunday might have been an inaccurate figure.

well they're reworking the rank system
your overall exp will remain the same but you will now have your own exp and rank for each playlist

You know even when the average Halo player is portrayed as some douche (And is really hard to say the opposite) they don’t bother me, they amuse me but they don’t bother me.

Is really funny when you heard an adult discussing with a brat now that if they could do something to fix the lag and I swear is not my connection because other games seem to work properly and something so I could choose the map and the playlist I want to play.

I really want to play Swordplay in Lone wolves and Zombies more often.

I would put my money on the fact that it is a reference to Shakespeare's Hamlet. In one scene Hamlet picks up the skull of Yorick and says "Alas poor Yorick, I knew him..." then launches on another long soliloquy that focuses on death.

Of course, I may be totally wrong and it may be an obvious reference to Y: The Last Man.

Posts on N4G about something big MS is planning for the 25th. Mostly dismissed as completely false rumor, but one of the pieces of that rumor did have Halo mentioned. Wonder if the fact that these are supposed to hit at around that time with a title update gives that crazy rumor some more credence.

I'm not great at Halo compared to most players... decent but not great.

My biggest complaint (not that hearing screeching obscenities is by any means low on my complaint list) are the assholes who literally make new accounts and are super good just to play with people who aren't.

Example: Let's assume we have gamertag "Douche-Big-e-Low" with a 3 ranking (mines a 4). We're 20 seconds in and I get my 3rd kill, yay me!!! I'm respawning and look at the stats... I'm in 3rd place with my 3 kills and there's a guy with 4 kills above me...

Guess what, Senor "Douche-Big-e-Low" has like 22 kills already and when he speaks, it's a friggin language I can't understand... and then, after the match, he chuckles a little.

I look at his gamerscore... shit is like 255 and the only game he's played is Halo 3. Surprise surprise!!!!!

I gotta admit I'd LOVE to crotch punch people like that... multiple times.
