'Classic' PSP games coming to PlayStation Store
21
While it doesn't quite fulfill our wish list of PSP games we'd most want to purchase by download and run from a single Memory Stick, D3 Publisher's "classic" catalog is coming to PlayStation Store (the PC one) this September. Props for being ahead of the curve. Up for digital delivery will be:

I'm not going to say those games suck, but I wouldn't call any of them classics at all.
Puzzle Quest was fun, but better on other systems.

It seems like it's been a slow few weeks for gaming news =( I know it will pick up in a few weeks and then will probably not stop until next year. But I'm getting bored.

Is any PSP game a classic?

well the system does have more critically acclaimed (75+) games than the DS http://www.metacritic.com/

Jeanne d'Arc is also nice :P
And I don't care what the mainstream reviewers say, Ultimate Ghosts n' Goblins is old-school gaming gold.
Daxter, is also fantastic. If you've already played Super Mario Galaxy, Ratchet & Clank Future, and Psychonauts, you owe it to yourself to look into Daxter. Next best 3D platformer out there right now.

and @required, the DS has more critically acclaimed exclusives. the majority of highly rated PSP games are ports, that happen to be more similar to their console versions... hence the higher scores.

Dead Head Fred is totally a classic. I picked it up at Sears on clearance for 4 bucks thinking....if it sucks, well it was only 4 bucks, but it was actually a great game.

if all PSP games do digital, I might be convinced to pick one up again.
nothing is more inconvenient than having to handle a bunch of little discs while you're out.

We homebrewed users have been enjoying the "no little discs" for a while. And yes, it is to play backups. Piracy sucks.

Yeah what he said, we homebrewers only play backups of games and have for a long time. Not always our backups... never our backups really...
Yes, piracy sucks, no one pirates PSP games, that is why the system does so well.
That said, I only own a PSP, which is already a mistake to begin with (haven't used it in months), and honestly with the amount of crap this system has on it, no wonder people don't pay for their games. Chances are I will not go looking for my PSP again until Loco Roco 2 comes out, so I can torrent it.
Don't kid yourself, everyone who runs DAX firmware pirates games, no one would waste the money on the shit games this system has just to rip them themselves so they can play without the UMD. The amount of effort is not worth it.

Now with more and more things to download and run off the memory sticks, we need them to get larger and cheaper.
If only the PSP could take SD cards as well as memory sticks, sigh....................
