Beginning this Thursday, junior rockers that prefer PS3 can rip their Rock Band tracks right to their system in preparation for Rock Band 2. But, much like Ziggy Stardust, the Sept. 11 patch will be hiding a secret under all the glam: The addition of Guitar Hero III Les Paul controller support. If you've managed to hold out this long from getting a second RB guitar, your patience has finally been rewarded.
You'll also be happy to hear that Harmonix is hammering out a fix for the busted PAX Pack, which will also be included with the export patch. Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got to go update the Instrument Matrix ... again.
[Thanks, Chris]

I tried to hold out... I REALLY tried. Bought my second rock band guitar last month and then sure enough. How uncomfortable it will be when I force my friends to use that second stratocaster...

Are you serious? I hate the Strat. I can do hammer-ons, pull-offs, and rapid strums much more efficiently on either of the GH guitars.
I will admit that I like the additional 5 frets and quieter strum bar on the Strat though.

Same here. The Nyko is rather nice IMO. I guess I'll have a 3rd sitting around just in case now. I have no true preference among them, though I'd probably pick the Les Paul over the Strat. Maybe some future iteration will expand the band to a 3rd guitar, so you got bass, lead, and rhythm or something to that extent...

It's for the PS3 version yet you include an image of the 360's GH3 lol. I'm sorry, i'm nitpicking.

Hmm... seeing as I have two of each guitar, I guess this'll give my friends a nice option. Personally, I can't stand the clicking from the Les Paul, even though I do admit it's a lot easier to be accurate with that strummer.

They pretty much did this as incentive to encourage people like me (who only own GH3 and now face a choice whether to get RB2 or GHWT) to go with Rock Band.
Twice as many songs doesn't hurt, either..

So can I only rip the RB tracks that I like? There are some songs on RB that I NEVER want to hear again!

Yes. Basically everything is exported at once, then you can delete the songs you want too off the harddrive.

This is what I've been waiting for. Now I can turn my back on Guitar Hero and Shark Man Singer.
