I'm thinking about picking up Spore, which will be the first PC game I've bought since Civ 4, which I'm not even sure counts, as it didn't run on my antiquated laptop.
Now, I have a brand new shiny laptop, which I fear Spore won't run on either, but am willing to risk it.

...after worrying that 2K9 might cater for the Wii crowd the comparison of hockey demos changed my mind. 2K9 just has a better feel of real hockey. Gameplay always wins in my book and 2K9 looks to have satisfied those looking for a real hockey experience.

Definitely NHL 09, might also give NHL 2k9 a rent just to see how it plays. I think NHL 09 might repeat as sports game of the year in many publications. It won 7 last year.
