Square Enix announced their Tokyo Game Show lineup over the weekend. Square Enix has traditionally been one of the biggest supporters of the DS, with the Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy spinoffs and remakes, and new franchises like Sigma Harmonics, Nanashi no Game, and The World Ends with You. Most importantly, they've got the new Dragon Quest IX on the way. That will be available in trailer form at this year's TGS.But as for the Wii, Square Enix has been a bit more restrained in their releases. Dragon Quest Swords, Chocobo's Dungeon, and My Life as a King are the only Wii games from the company to be released; all that's pending is a Soul Eater action game.
That trend doesn't appear to be changing any time soon, as the company's TGS lineup is completely devoid of any Wii games, including that Soul Eater game. It's possible that they're saving some new Wii games for announcement during the show, or they'll surprise everyone with a not-dead Crystal Bearers, but, for now, it appears that if you want to play Square Enix games, you should invest in a DS.
