I'm pretty sure that the texture loading in Mass Effect happens in real time off the disc, so while you would see the same effect, the complete textures would probably load a bit faster.

That was a well thought-out and compelling argument yet had an understated complexity about it.

Bravo, Venas Rotas, Bravo!

I wish they'd bring back 'gift MS points' feature. I hate having to buy the points on ebay since most of my mates live in different countries.

you may have heard of these strange things called "stores" where you buy objects. They're pretty simple really; just pick an item out, walk to the desk in front, and hand the item to the "cashier". The cashier will pick it up, wave it over a bunch of lights that magically tell them the price, they relay this information to you, and then you give them that amount of money. If you give them too much, they get the change out of a little machine, and hand it back to you with the item.

Then if you want to send it somewhere, you repeat the process at a post office.

@ schwal

MS Points are region locked. It's possible this is what he is referring to. If he wants to buy his mates some points, it needs to be from the right location. That's how I read it, anyway.

I get frustrated when I see all these giveaways and I cant enter them because I'm from Puerto Rico. Hopefully one day your legal department will amend their rules and let us participate. Also shipping things over here is not as expensive as people might think.

Puerto Rico is a US territory you should be eligible.

Well, don't you look silly!

You forgot the nagging little issue that he said that his buddies live in different countries, and if ya didn't know, Microsoft points don't have a universal value.

Points bought in the United States will not work with a Canadian account, for example.

So, Doll buying points from one of these 'stores' wouldn't do him any good, now would it?

Yeah the US-only competitions do piss me off a bit too coming from the UK. Sometimes I think you lot do it on purpose ;o)

Feel sorry for Quebec though, they always get the shaft!!

Quebec is probably excluded because the products available in the giveaways are English-only versions.

Don't feel sorry for them - they made their own bed with Bill 101.

quebec has some law where if quebec residents are allowed to participate in a contest, A Quebec resident must must win. Pretty damn lame.

Solution, exclude Quebec from entering all contests. Hence why they are always excluded :p

BTW im not an expert . Thats just what i read, I could be wrong.

I don't want to call the bloggers liars, but your legal department's excuses are weak.

The UK, and most of Europe have very lose laws regarding giveaways, and as long as it wasn't money there would be no difficulty in opening up giveaways of goodies to most EU countries. As long as the goodies weren't NTSC games.

I hate it when only a double tap isn't recognised.

I just do what I'm told...

I could be way off on the reasons, but that's my understanding of things. We would gladly open them up if we could.

Well CSuchanek, the status of PR, being a territory, is that we're in a sort of limbo or Twilight Zone. For some thing we are part of the US, for others we aren't, and the fine print of all Joystick giveaways say "Void in Quebec, Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law", so josearoldan, myself and the other puertorrican fanboys are out of the loop on this one.

The ones I checked didn't say that but I'll take your word for it that most of them do.
