iPhone users: Spore Origins now available
iPhone users think they have it all – a phone; an iPod; an internet communications device – but up until 3pm yesterday afternoon there was one thing they were all missing: Spore. Okay, there's two things they're all missing: copy & paste and Spore.
After what we can only imagine was a grueling certification process, Apple's army of app-sniffing robots finally approved the handheld version of the everything simulator, dubbed Spore Origins. The 80MB download will run you a cool Hamilton (that's $10 for the currency-ignorant amongst you). Add some copy & paste and you'll have it all, iPhone user!

Here is another full review of iPhone Origins for the iPhone for a different perspective: http://www.iphone-hacks.com/2008/09/09/spore-origins-for-the-iphone-reviewed/

The copypasta I can do without I just want multimedia messaging + Spore and I will be complete.
I just hope this game is actually worth my Hamilton because all the others I've wasted on iPhone games could've been better spent on Chris Grant's mother.
JoeTheBlow @ Sep 9th 2008 4:22AM
$10 for a minigame?!
No thanks.
IGLAW @ Sep 9th 2008 4:39AM
oh you
Ihavepants @ Sep 9th 2008 5:38AM
Whereas us PC gamers (in Australia) get to pay $120 dollars for FIVE minigames, joy.
NvM @ Sep 9th 2008 5:21AM
I actually found the Cell Stage more interesting than the Tribal and Creature Stage.
Ihavepants @ Sep 9th 2008 5:37AM
Fuck iPhones.
Mr Awesomer @ Sep 9th 2008 6:26AM
Do you prefer to do that with your anus or your vagina?
Ihavepants @ Sep 9th 2008 7:27AM
I slice my left testicle open and squeeze it all over the screen, then use the iPhone as an implant.
Levi @ Sep 9th 2008 7:45AM
Oh go rock out with your LG Chocolate out you woman
I hate Apple but its not that bad of a phone
rTwelve [xbl:chilblane] @ Sep 9th 2008 9:50AM
Man, I was eating breakfast. Thanks a lot.
deaftly @ Sep 9th 2008 10:30AM
I hate the elitist apple fanbase more then any other group around (sony fanboys close 2nd) but the iphone is the best gadget I have ever owned. Don't knock it till you try it honestly.
Jakka(Naked Peach Brigade) @ Sep 9th 2008 11:25AM
You're hating Iphones too much.Sure, it is overpriced and you could get a 50% cheaper Smartphone with even better features but it's definitely a great gadget that you can show off to your friends.
After all, isn't it Apple's entire ideology considering how most cheaper MP3 players are better than Ipods?Either way, you're paying more for the logo than for the actual product.
Titanium_Orchid @ Sep 9th 2008 12:14PM
@deaftly
I own an iPhone AND a PS3 O_o
343 Guilty Fart @ Sep 9th 2008 1:02PM
It's also missing reliable 3G.
deaftly @ Sep 9th 2008 1:12PM
@Titanium
So do I :P
Akukami @ Sep 9th 2008 6:19AM
So how's the DRM with this version of the game?
Gregarious @ Sep 9th 2008 6:21AM
Does this work for the ipod touch as well?
Dijkie @ Sep 9th 2008 7:58AM
Yes.
AwesomeTown @ Sep 9th 2008 7:30AM
I found out in EGM that you can get the Sega-CD classic RPG Vay for the iPhone. Don't get Spore, get Vay.

iPhone is going to have some of the best games, mobiles ever tasted.
baby sea tuna @ Sep 9th 2008 9:11AM
Thanks, but I've already got flOw. At this point I'd pay $9.99 for copy and paste though.
Simon Phoenix @ Sep 9th 2008 9:17AM
The reviews for this game were stellar so I bought it but it crashes when I try to run it :(
Kyle @ Sep 9th 2008 9:31AM
Its still missing A2DP as well, a music phone without stereo bluetooh...makes sense
Shu Chow @ Sep 9th 2008 9:38AM
Folks, don't support a company that openly hates and mistrusts you by implementing ridiculous DRM schemes.
baby sea tuna @ Sep 9th 2008 9:50AM
So, uh, were you referring to Apple, or EA on this one?
Jakka(Naked Peach Brigade) @ Sep 9th 2008 11:26AM
Possibly both.
joe @ Sep 11th 2008 10:00PM
@Shu Chow
too bad apple's DRM has been cracked since the app store pretty much launched. i dont use the cracked apps but they are pretty much everywhere.
PS they arent the only company to use them dumbass. if you want ridiculous DRM schemes then try installing EA games
SoloReX @ Sep 9th 2008 11:12AM
And Spore isn't an EA game?
Mel @ Sep 9th 2008 1:55PM
One of the best iPhone games. It made me reach the "can't put this game down and quit" point.
RobLink (Alex Kidd incarnate) @ Sep 9th 2008 2:52PM
No, but it is out for the DS. And it looks crap. I downloaded the demo from my Wii, and it pretty much blows.
Superstar90 @ Sep 9th 2008 9:56PM
The DS version is AWFUL.
