And right they are, this product is a disgrace to their own success. It's outright disgusting to release this kind of product when the most important portion of the customer base is completely annoyed by the lack of "serious" titles. I am an angry Wii owner and commenter on the above video myself and this has just become a joke. Who do they think will keep their business going in the next generation? How many Wii Fit 2 can you sell?

"I still have hope for the platform but the disappointment was more than average."

I agree that they really took a good idea that they presented a few years ago, and turned it into something idiotic.

However, the idea that they are making this in lieu of some serious game has been proven false, numerous times. Different EAD groups are working on other wares.

I'm still highly confused by your manner of thinking.

Do you honestly think that Nintendo, arguably the grandest video game developer in the world, only has enough time to stop everything they're doing to release Wii Music?

They can't do more than one game at a time, apparently, despite the fact that they're releasing Wario Land: Shake It! in a few weeks.

I mean, it's one thing if they're announcing fifty games that are all exact clones of Wii Play. Instead, they're making some really innovative and outright different games, while the teams we know are working are working hard.

I just don't understand why you'd come to a Wii fansite and argue the point that Wii Music is like some sort of gaming black hole that sucks in Zelda and Mario, never to return.

zchry: You don't get my point. This "game" is a baby toy for retarded kids. You will waggle the controllers and something terrible will come out. Sure SOMEONE with no life will produce some nice tunes with the pre-designed songs to make them sound like they are supposed to. This is not even about giving you the feeling of immersion like Guitar Hero (which I hate btw.) tries to. It's all about giving a silly toy to their imaginary silly customer base. To make another buck from the "we buy it but we don't really play it" customers whose cash has made the Wii Fit float on top.

I'm not angry about that they try to make "really innovative and outright different games" but WHAT they do with it. This stuff could be sophisticated. Make a Theremin style instrument out of the Wiimote that really takes some practice but then you could CREATE. Right now all you do is memorize the waggle patterns to immitate making music (just like GH you are never actually making music yourself). What Wii Music is right now should only be an Arcade style minigame of the real Wii Music. That's what I am complaining about. They have the most advanced motion sensing technology in the games market and all they do with it is utterly boring or outright ridiculous. Animal Crossing? OK, it has a large fanbase but is this really what you should be focussing on when your success has become something of a running joke?

"I just don't understand why you'd come to a Wii fansite and argue the point that Wii Music is like some sort of gaming black hole that sucks in Zelda and Mario, never to return."

Where did you get that? I never said that, the point is: Wii Music is an example of insanity. Many of the core gamers that are supposed to carry this wave of success into the next generation(s) are mad as hell about the lack of "proper" games and Mario doesn't even count into that in my book. I'm desperately waiting for a Zelda and I know they're working on it but jeez, how can you make such a terrible release schedule. There has been almost half a year now w/o a Wii title I'd even look at (at least in Europe). There have been half a hand full of games with a serious theme and the rest was mini/partygames and/or babygraphics McCutie. I'm not interested in that, the Gamecube had such great gamut of titles but it's not there for the Wii, not at all. And the reason why I come here is a) I already have several hundred comments on this site and b) Where else would you go to discuss Wii related matters than a Wii fansite? Every time I try to start a reasonable discussion like that on a multi-plat board the PS360 guys start bashing the Wii for it's shitty gfx and whatnot. I want a reasonable discussion from a shared viewpoint and not troll after troll ripping my system a new one w/o even thinking about my questions. Most people here have the same problem and maybe respect for the platform as it is so we can communicate on a level that is more likely to produce something productive in terms of a conversation.

I hope this becomes the defining game of not only the Wii, but this entire generation. I hope it outsells every other game this winter twofold.

Then we'd see true nerd rage.

I agree 100%! I hope this comes out and is so good that it's hard to find in the stores because it's always sold out and all these pissy "Nintendo fans" will then bitch about not being able to get one.

"Nerd Rage" - LOL!

Is it safe to say Miyamoto has jumped the shark with this one? I don't like to say it, but I just can't imagine springing back from this waste.

Miyamoto's come up with a few lemons before, way back in the day.

His interest, say, in FPS and other genres, isn't going away.

My dog did not enjoy it much when I tried to play her in this manner.

That was a joke.

Also, does anyone else find it totally freaking hilarious that they used a picture of a real dog? That just tickled my funny bone, I guess.
