meh. I honestly think its an innovative idea that they have with the game but really i wouldn't have bought it anyway. Someone should make The Incredible Machine for XBLA. That i would buy.

Translation: Sony tries to reinvent the wheel every time they bring out a new game machine, and it's a big fucking pain in the ass to program for so ports can be trickier.

Of course it's "techincally possible," the power of the two machines is practically even. Sony knows they have their only other sure thing besides MGS4 so they are holding on to it. No big deal.

I couldn't care less about LBP but I don't have to be interested in it to know it's probably going to be very well done.

I really can't believe all the hype this game is getting. Out of all the PS3 exclusive games, this game built around a sock puppet is the least exciting for me.

I, on the other hand, have been coveting a PS3 ever since I saw the first trailer for this game. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade in my 360 for it, but LBP has me envisioning a three-console household at some point.

thats bc youre prolly bias toward xbox. when i first heard about this game and saw it i thought it was for little kids. after seeing all the trailers/multiplayer options/user creations etc. it looks incredible. the funny thing is that its a basic game for the most part.

I agree, not a game I would be interested in. Not even a rental for me. The PS3 people are drooling over it because of the lack of other things to play. Would get lost in the shuffle on this plateform imo.

Now if that wasn't bias/jealously, I don't know what is. Seriously, stop it with the ridiculous comments. The game doesn't appeal to you. So what. It's innovative and looks fresh, incredibly fun and addictive, kind of like what Banjo Kazooie may bring to 360. Let me guess, you love that game, though.

I'm so sick of fanboys posting. I have an xbox and a wii. I dont have a PS3 bc of the initial lack of games/exclusives. Anything good on PS3 I could get on x360. But you have to admit that PS3 is coming out with great games and good exclusives. I'm going to buy a PS3 for LBP. Looks like a great party game and online game. Not to mention MGS4 and God of War 3 and Resistance. For people that can only choose one system, PS3 is becoming a very good choice. I love my X360 and I'm sure that will still be my primary system but I definately can see what the LBP hype is about. Don't hate just bc X360 has nothing like this.

Would be interesting to see if the game uses more than the 8.5gigs.

And the Hard drives havent affected games like GTA4, so I doubt a puzzle game would be affected.

Looks like a thinly disguised fanboy attack to me.

I find "impossible" hard to believe. Yes, the game was built around the PS3 architecture, but the same results may be achieved, even if a different algorithm is necessary for the physics engine. Concerning disc space, and the HDD, that's bullshit. They are including a number of pre-designed levels which I am sure takes up all of the space. They could just copy the engine and require extra levels to be on a different disc. Or gasp, they could require the HDD for additional content (like 99% of the map packs people buy now). It's not like it's impossible.

40gigs huh? Talk about quantity over quality. They need to hire more code monkeys cause the game sounds like it was coded by the laziest bunch of monkeys. That and compression would be helpful.

I have both an XBOX 360 and a PS3, as such, I subscribe to both PS3 Fanboy and 360 Fanboy. Seriously, every few posts on PS3F is about LBP. It's getting a little tired and overhyped for a game that has one foot firmly in the casual market.

Yeah, what about Too Human? That was on here every stinking day practically for weeks and weeks. LBP is an ever-evolving game that continues to win award after award so yes, that news is justified and you are probably tired of reading and not playing so I agree with you that it sucks and does get "annoying"....

Wouldn't this game on the 360 be a great way to showcase the install feature? ZING!
They should have a multiconsole fanboy so everyone is counted as trolls, because right now, I'm feeling like one.

I prefer the content available on the 360, but this game (and stuff from PixelJunk) make me wish I had a PS3 to play it on...

...but not enough to go drop $300 just for it.

I'm not against the PS3 per se.
Hardware wise, it's nice.
But Sony's decision to remove backwards compatibility killed the deal for me.
Maybe I'll get one of the old ones with hardware BC off of ebay or something later... For now I'll just live vicariously through other peoples' experiences with LBP...
*sigh*

I'm with you, nomadic0ne. I bought my PS3 for the exact same reasons. I bought it for LBP, PSN games (XBLA and Live are my favorite features of the 360) and BC. I bought a used 60GB PS3. My game collection for the Sony platform right now is:

PixelJunk Monsters
PixelJunk Eden (genius)
The Last Guy (also genius)
fl0w
Uncharted
Shadow of the Colossus
Ico
We Love Katamari

I plan on picking up Flower and LBP and that makes the system worth it to me. Only two retail games in there.

360 Owners dont want this, its a PS3 Exclusive so = POS instantly. Its always that way, Final Fantasy 13 was a POS game that was going downhill until a certain announcement at E3.

Also, Big Bird, "lack of other things to play" .... seriously? ...how is it back in 2006?

I'd tell you why LBP is one of, if not THE, most wanted game currently but it will turn into a huge flamefest and I will have bitter fanboys telling me how Gears 2 will be game of the year and all that crap so sod it. Sackboy is the new PS3 mascot and MM dont want to burn any bridges so they could develop something non LBP related in the future for both consoles.

Commence downvote...

FF13 was the game to get on PS3 until it went multiplatform, then it was junk in the eyes of the PS3 community.

That said, LBP look ok but I don't think it's for me.

i just see this game as a nice diversion. i really don't see this as a long term investment of my time.
not everybody has to go apeshit over the game. i respect it for what it is: a creative tool for game design.
with that said, i am much more anticipating Fable 2 than anything the PS3 has to offer this fall.
no need to sod off here, my good ol chap!

Also, when I hear a biased/unjustified/misinformed statement, yes, I do comment and voice my opinion. Am I wrong for this? Should I just pick one side and stick with it? Seriously.....

@Devin: Woah tiger. Let's not infer and put words into my mouth. I'm making fun of the fact that there are several people that hardly ever post at all and the only time they do is to come over and stir stuff up when it's related to the PS3 which they feel like they have to defend at X3F. It's tough to listen to people act like they are objective when you know that they are not. Just because you post pro-PS3 comments on X3F doesn't make you objective. I said nothing about choosing one console or about LBP at all. LBP interests me and looks fun.

They always say this, this mumbo-jumbo. Blu-ray disc capacity and that "having a hard drive on every unit makes a difference. What difference?

Later this fall, Optional HDD-Install, and I guarrentte that the games no bigger than 8GB.

Cause really its more created content than anything.

The "hard drive difference" means no worries about just a memory stick on which to store game details. Read that as huge game saves.

I'm wondering if Sony is going to game developers with extra cash saying "PLEASE overdevelop your game so Blu-Ray is the only way to deliver it. We don't care if it's video content; we just want to crow about how only a PS3 can properly deliver the full experience."

Now, when they goof later on and need two Blu-Ray disks, will that still be a selling point?...

i think he meant the install space for the hdd. not the actual disc content on the bluray. so 8gb would be a correct guess.

I own and finished both of those games with COD4 in 1080p and MGS4 in 720p, MGS4 looked much better and isn't even comparable. I don't know how you came to your comment but I suggest you actually put a little more time into it.

WTango, are you serious? MGS4 is far superior to any PS2 game and definitely better looking than COD4. You have obviously never played it. Why does everyone have to trash other system exclusives? You like what you like, I like what I like and everyone has their own opinion. If you dont like the game and arent interested in it, as you all seem to be saying, then stop complaining about it and bashing other systems. LBP is taking over 40gb on the blueray disk because it will contain tutorial videos, the actual game, the base levels and each disk has 2 different paths to complete it. The Dev version and the User version. This is why it takes so much space. Im personally not all that excited about this game, but I will definitely pick it up and try it. I personally prefer to play my PS3 over my XBOX because I am a fan of the PS3 exclusives and my friends are on PS3 and I am just more comfortable with the PS3 controller. (Plus my BOX died) I will then say that im sure some, if not all of you, are fans of Halo but I personally think the game is highly overrated but I am not trying to start flamewars. Most of the greatest games are multiplatform anyway so enjoy what you have. Go ahead, downvote me now.

u guys serious ? i played one of the earlier levels at a friends place, one set in the middle east where the robotic dog and the other robots attack. the buildings all looked blocky and sharp, the textures blurry. cod4 the mid-east levels you get a sense of destruction from the broken buildings and the overall beating the environment has taken. MGS4 did not convey that at all.

still I will admit have not played the whole game so the graphics may get better later on......

Very serious; maybe it would help to compare the games on the same TV and both in their highest resolutions and even then, COD4 is 1080p while MGS4 is only 720p.

I'm really intrigued by LBP and it's unique gameplay but can't help feeling that after a couple of hours the novelty will wear off. And this has nothing to do with it being a PS3 exclusive.

Luckliy I have a friend with a PS3 (don't worry he's got both and the 360 came first) so hopefully he'll pick it up and I can try it. Or at the very least a free demo on PSN.

Oh, @2: And I'd be all over a Rube Goldberg type game too ;o)

exactly my thoughts. it just feels like an internet game, or Spore. the novelty would wear off, but not for those that keep generating content.

I for one don't have the time to keep generating new content. besides all my friends are on Live. who would i be sharing that content with? strangers over PSN?
