Gamecock's Velvet Assassin needs to polish its blades a bit longer before it's ready. Previously announced as a fall release, the silky stealth-action title stumbled on something in the shadows, falling back until sometime early next year.
According to Eurogamer, the move was made to make both the European and US launches more in line, while giving German dev Replay Studios more time to iron out any wrinkles in the fabric instead of rushing to add to the glut of an already crowded holiday shopping season.

Gamecock is publishing, not developing. And more time to polish never hurts.

This game just irks me. You realize that you actually have to have a recorded kill before you can be called an "assassin", right, Gamecock and developer?
Her first mission was sabotaging bridges. Her second and final mission resulted in her getting captured. What happened there?
"German documents of the incident record no injuries or casualties to German soldiers."
Though, in war, apparently, it's totally ok embellish your record. Go out on a mission and don't complete it? "War hero".
If they wanted to do a video game based on women who served during World War II, they could have found dozens of more deserving candidates.

I think you are talking about the real life Violette Szabo. Replay said it was inspired by her but its an original story. Relax hombre.

I have never heard of this game until right now. What is it about? Is it suppose to be like assassin's creed?

Damn, and I haven't had a chance to post my write up on this games PAX presentation…
The gist: You play a female Sam Fisher in World War 2, except that you are actually in a coma, remembering the mission that put you in a coma.
Pros: the game's "morphine effect" (think bullet time, but for super quick neck snaps, this is a stealth game after all) is very pretty. The world basically bleeds away and you take on your 'Coma patient' look during it.
having the option to pull soldier's grenade's pins when they aren't looking is also cute, though no different from a 'context sensitive super kill'
Cons: aside from the morphine effect, the graphics are run of the mill. the game play looks completely scripted and linear and unoriginal and (in some cases) like you could spend a while starting at what you are supposed to do, with no clue how to do it.
seriously, in the demo, the dev ran through this room full of toxic gas, weaving between guards on patrol, exactly to where she needed to go: a box in the corner which she needed to drag out, then climb on top of to reach a catwalk.
Now, from my own playing experience, I don't do so well in games that don't have interactive environments, but sometimes use interactive objects for puzzles. I can only imagine getting more irritated when trying to find these things while avoiding guards etc...
