Seeing that it has been quite a while since we've posted one of these little gems, here, for your viewing pleasure, is a video comparing the look of BioShock on the Xbox 360 versus BioShock on the Playstation 3. Press play, watch, analyze and we'll wait ...
Okay, by now your video watching should be complete, (achievement unlocked audio sample goes here) and hopefully you noticed that the games are nearly identical. How fun! You should have also realized that you wasted a good three minutes of your day squinting at your computer screen trying your damnedest to spot a pixel differences between the two. Don't feel bad though, because we did the same. It's just something that's in our fanboy genes that makes us do it.

I agree, not much of a difference (I watched it ONLY because I wanted to respond and thought it a "dick" move to comment and NOT watch the video).
My only comment is that these types of videos are great when there are two scenarios... and ONLY these two types of scenarios:
1) The consoles are new to the market (which these two are NOT)
2) There is a significant difference between the two version (which there is NOT)

Look pretty much identical.. Only difference is PS3 version looks slightly darker (all over) and 360 version looks lighter. This of course, means nothing when you can change the settings on both the tv and console.
So yeah, they did a very good job at porting the game to PS3. Now port the extra content to 360 as DLC and now we're talking..

From all of the comparisons I've seen (They have quite a few on Gametrailers) the PS3 version is always brighter/higher contrast.
Other than they're completely identical.

why are they even doing game comparisons anymore?
ps3 fanboys aren't going to buy a 360.
360 fanboys aren't going to buy a PS3.

I disagree but slightly.
I'm a 360 guy, but I'm buying a PS3 for bluray... and in the unforetold event that there is actually an exclusive title worth playing on it... (socom, maybe.)

When filmed in youtube quality you wouldn't see a difference even if there was one.
It also looks like the 360 brightness was turned way up(which makes something look better to around 90% of people) and the PS3 brightness turned down(which makes something look worse to 90% of people).
I couldn't care either way, but as these videos are so opened to bias I don't take them seriously.

ummmm... is this video choppy for anyone?
I'm pretty sure, I didn't play a choppy version of bioshock.
Anyway, I like the darkness of the of the ps3 version, but identical to me.
It really just sums up to controller preference

The ps3 version actually looks kinda sluggish. The movement of the wrench and everything actually. Just My opinion.

It's nice to see that the huge and long install times are well worth the wait for the ps3 version.

This is ridiculous. I'm watching this little box on a 17" VGA monitor with technology nowhere near what my HDMI HDTV at home can produce and somehow I'm supposed to get a 100% comparison? My arse!

PC version may look better but if you own a 360 and you wanted to own this game then you already bought it for the 360 and then when the PC version came you prolly pirated it.
PC games are great if you want to spent 3 times as much for the hardware so you can see it in a little more detail in front of mainly LITTLE PC monitors in your nerdy little PC chair. That's so lame, gimmer a big screen and a lazyboy recliner anyday..
PC = R.I.P.

Uh, Hello? MS paid for timed exclusivity.....they also have added/revamped some of the gameplay/graphics, so it's not just a 100% cookie-cutter port....that is why it's taken as long as it has...plus it's not the same developers that made the game who are porting it either....

These comparison videos are pointless because if there are any differences, they're not going to come across in a small YouTube-sized screen. They'll only be visible on large TV's, and that's if you look really close.

looks like bioshock will look, feel, and play almost identically on both consoles.. i cant imagine how tiny, standard def video is supposed to help make a comparison but for what its worth the brightness setting on either console could have made up the difference in the footage..
ps3 fanboys should be happy they got their hands on such a critically and commercially successful game like Bioshock.. expecting it to look better or worse is asking a bit much..

Without trying to start a fanboy fight (I swear). I just had to point out how funny it is that when it was announced that it was coming to PS3...PS3 fanboys started ragging on 360 Fanboys...saying that it was going to be "true" 1080p, not just and upscale. Now seeing them side by side...they look Identical...other than the obvious brightness issue. Most likely that can just be adjusted with in game or TV settings, but as it stands in this video, I like the 360 side better. An extra year should have made the port look a lot better. Oh well, the bottom line is that it looks gorgeous on both sides. I LOVED that game, and for those who didn't have a chance before...GET IT..and enjoy it. It's a great game. Have fun.
