Every year (well, at least since being banned from E3) the grand minions of GameStop Corp. descend upon the dessert oasis that is Las Vegas, Nevada -- with a Capital X -- to become better informed about their retail products, so as to make professional recommendations to their far less knowledgeable customer base. With a few cleverly placed posers, 1UP has infiltrated the sore-thumbed masses of regional managers who have traveled great distances to earn bragging rights over the adolescents who, in turn, loiter inside their finely vacuumed establishments. Finally, some payoff for another hard year of underachievement (remember kids, these are just rumors):

A trailer for a new Indiana Jones game (could it be?) will premiere next week ... after everyone's returned home to Nowheresville.
60 GB Xbox 360 hard drive will be $99 with 3 months of Xbox Live and an ethernet cable; or 12 months of Xbox Live for $70 and a copy of PGR4. Decisions, decisions...
Animal Crossing: City Folk will be bundled with the Wii Speak "community mic" and sold for $70. (And after this, Nintendo will be done with peripherals. Promise. *Crosses fingers behind back.*)
GBA's Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories will get a surprise port to ... (wait for it) ... PS2! [Update: As several commenters point out, a Chain of Memories ~~port~~ remake has been available in Japan since March 2007.]

Visit 1UP for the full range of oohs and ahs. Bet you wish you'd forgone that degree and stuck it out at the strip mall, huh? Just imagine: You could be there. Right. Now.

um they put chain of memories on ps2 awhile ago, its just it hasn't made its way to America.

And the clips online that I saw looked damned sweet. I would pick it up in a second -- no idea why they haven't brought it across the Pacific, given the selling power of the KH franchise.

My local gamestop manager went to one of these last year, he's a pretty cool guy, apparently he played a demo of Halo 3 mutliplayer and they spent the whole time playing baseball with gravity hammers and rockets

I am taking these all as set in stone facts now. They are the truth and I won't let anyone convince me otherwise. To prove the point, I'm leaving work for the day and won't respond.

I really don't know why all the Nintendo peripheral thing.

The only ones I can remember on the Wii are the Zapper, the Wheel (free) and the Balance Board. And now the Wii Speak.

And the only necesary is the Balance Board, the other two are optional and the only function is to simulate a gun and a wheel.

Every other peripheral like the crapy raquets or sports packs, etc, are from third party party.

almost every thing on the wiki list isn't needed either, except the controller ofcourse.

Try and even pretend that Nintendo consoles aren't all about selling you the most hardware is just being a naive fanboy. They make more money on crappy accessories than MS or Sony any day of the week. A 360 comes with a voice chat headset. Nintendo wants to MAKE you buy a game which is barely much more than a Gamecube port to get a crappy voicechat system that will be totally unacceptable for the year 2008.

Broseph, I'll concede for the sake of argument there are more 360 accessories/peripherals than Wii accessories/peripherals. However, the ones for Wii are specifically marketed as being necessary to play the game. I never hear a peep about any 360 accessories for the most part so that was a bit of an eye opener.

Eh, i'd go for it if i didn't have something better to play that month (namely Sonic Unleashed)

But they've really covered all their bases in terms of peripherals. One for racing, one for shooting, one for speaking, one for exercising

I'd be interested in Animal Crossing if they actually put more than a weeks worth of effort into the game..

Seriously, it looks like they hired a couple of guys to stretch the graphics from the DS game for the Wii version, added in a few new pieces of furniture and are now trying to pass it off as a new game.

I know a lot of sequels this generation have been very similar to the original games, but this is just ridiculous. I LOVE Animal Crossing, but why should I buy this? It's the same damn thing!

I haven't seen anything that makes it look like the same damn game. I don't know why you are so sure that it is when there has not been that much about it shown and its a pretty recent reveal. Give the game a chance to be reviewed before you decide there is nothing good about it.
