I have a 360 and love it, but I must say, if the ps3 had a price cut, I'd buy one. Not to say $400 for a good console and a blu-ray player is too expensive, but I just don't want to spend that money. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same and I can imagine Sony dominating with a price drop.

the ps3 is worth much more than the 360, its crazy sony sells them for about the same price.

i know sony has had to do this to compete because 15 million people would not buy a $ 600 60gb ps3.

sony has taken the losses in order to try and close the console lead gap, and they have slowly closed the gap by a few million.

ms is smart in selling their console for a price that allows for profit on all 20 million consoles sold.

I am a little sad, though I myself did not buy it, that Too Human didn't really sell that well. I think it needs to see 1 million to get a sequel and that is pushing it. I think a sequel would really allow Silicon Knights (ahem, The Dyack Squad) to really show what they want to do with this game.

So much for the 360 being down and out, as the PS3 fanboys seemed to think yesterday. Still, its next months data that Im really interested in. Price cut with 3 heavy hitters (Fable 2, Gears of War 2, and Fallout 3) on the horizon? Should be pretty heavy.

Also why wont my picture change....

I stand by my predictions.

360 will slaughter PS3 in America, and will draw with it world wide. Wii will still beat everyone.

Another disastrous month for Wii 3rd party sales. The only wii 3rd party game on the list is Madden, which also happens to be the *hottest* franchise in gaming.

Given that Nintendo hasn't been putting out anything decent lately, and 3rd parties are right to abandon the system. Look to see Wii numbers sky diving soon to the huge shock and awe of the gaming industry.

And remember, having a huge install base means nothing if no one is buying any games. I'm sure Nintendo makes out like bandits on the system price and Wii Play, but after that, pfft-bubkis.

DS will continue to do fine. So don't sell your N stock just yet.

There's always been a disconnect between the Madden-buying crowd and Nintendo consoles. As i said before, last year the Wii version of Madden did even worse and didn't crack the top 10

But the whole bad 3rd party sales thing on Wii is a myth that's been busted, numerous times.

Nice!!, Too Human at #8.

Good for them, its a very "original" game if at that. It plays like nothing else, which can be a shame since people just read someone else's review and spam the game, when it should deserve some credit for being "different". I can get people's hate for the game, its a love it/hate it type of game, but too many people bashed it with absolutely no real grasp or even any sort of knowledge of the game.

Given how well sports games sell, perhaps Joystiq should get a writer who appreciates these games and report on them properly, instead of bashing them all the time.

Actually Microsoft are doomed.

They sold 840 Xboxes in Japan last week (1/10th the number os PS3s). Europe 360 sales are stagnant, Woolworths are having a fire sale to get rid of them (remember Woolworths HD DVD firesale?????)

Developers are telling us there is no more capability in Xbox, and what you see now, is what you will continue to see for the rest of it's life.

Even in the US, 360 is not looking very smart, it's still the FPS console, that fails to attract mainstream consumers. (the Singstar and Buzz! rip-offs on 360 are unlikely to change that perception anytime soon).

Microsoft and their army of brainwashed mouthpieces have tried to convince people that 360 is great and PS3 is a turd, but it's clearly not working, as a last ditch hope, as massive fire-sale of the remaining faulty Xboxes, before the Jaspers arrive, might just convince people they arn't really selling sh1te...

In the US, the only console that attracts the mainstream customer right now is the Wii. Singstar does not sell well here, neither does Buzz. I can't say why that is, but it seems to be true... Singstar has been out for months and has only sold like 100,000 copies.

Right now it seems like both Sony and MS are scrambling to figure out how to challenge the Wii on the casual gamer front, while still retaining the hardcore gamers too. I don't think either has a guarantee of doing it... LittleBigPlanet seems like the best chance, but who knows if the average person will get sucked into that experience.

josh- are u another mis-guided ps2/psp/ps3 fanboy??

josh the ps3 did not sell 120-150 million consoles because of mainstream games. its more because of the great sony franchises they once held securely.
gran turismo, gta, final fantasy, metal gear, and other franchises are what console gaming is about the exclusives..
and not the games like singstar and lips..
the ps3 and 360 are not the wii and dont want to be like the wii.
they go after different audiences hardcore and casual gamers.

where do u come up with the 360 is the shooter system?
yes it is true that every cross plat shooter sells more copies on the 360 over the ps3.
yes it is true that a few shooters on the 360 have sold more than 8 million copies already.

but you forgot to think of all the exlclusive RPG games on the 360.
the 360 also has many family games that are not mature rated. more than the ps3.
the 360 has more rpg games than the ps3 now.
what do you call mass effect, too human, infinite undiscovery, lost odyssey, and many other games.
the ps3 is actually relying on the popularity of shooters more IMO now.

see i dont discount the ps3 or make false claims.
i just speak my opinion and the truth...
fanboys do the opposite.

By how much do you think that the comments on Joystiq would decrease in number if fanboyism was a bannable offense?

not going to happen, these articles are designed to bring out the fanboys.

Other than shareholders, who really gives a crap how many units Sony or MS or Nintendo pushed? None of these companies are going to go under just because they have a bad month.
