Yeah, I actually saw Hotel Dusk at Wal-Mart yesterday, with the brand new banner. Pretty cool that there's a reprint. I know it's one of those games that people didn't want to play until after it was too late. :P

Stuff happens, dude. Stuff - weed voice.

This reminds me of the Castlevania budget release. Pretty hideous. Though, I do regret selling my copy of Hotel Dusk - kinda.

Glad I picked up Hotel Dusk before they decided to ruin the box art.

Wow. Just wow. I mean, sure, the $20 price tag is awesome, but why'd they have to make it such an eyesore?

I like orange, but...

On the other hand, this tingles my frugality. Plus, I can just replace the game jacket or whatever with the original one. 8D

That strip of white in between the actual box-art and the banner really bothers me.

Well I guess I don't have to search eBay anymore for $50 copies of Clubhouse Games. WOOT!

Yes, it's just like the PS2 Greatest Hits banner, only uglier.

I just want to know, having solved Hotel Dusk and Trace Memory and Profesor Layton and both Touch Detectives, when we're going to see more mystery/adventure puzzles. It's easily my favorite genre despite the limited replayability.

That means more people will be looking at my Hotel Dusk FAQ on gamefaqs about what the chips and lipstick are for. (I am iyqyqr on gamefaqs and you can email me for hotel dusk help)

honestly, this is one of the best games I've played on DS and I'm glad to see it being re-released.

Beyond fugly. I've been thinking about picking up a copy of Hotel Dusk despite the fact that it's been nonexistent in stores for some time, and, seeing this, I'll gladly pay more for a used first-print copy.

now that it is 20 new, the used copies will be much less than that

Which is what I'm currently hoping for. I just had to say that to underscore my displeasure with the new Touch Generations banners :P C'mon price drop trickle-down...

At worst case scenario, there might be a value difference ten years from now, as is the case with black label vs. green label PS1 games. Stuff like Castlevania SOTN, FFVII, Metal Gear Solid, etc. go for significantly more if they're not greatest hits.

I'll gladly sell my original covers for these games. Wish I had waited and only paid $20 each - ugly cover or not - the games are great.

Wow, I didn't think it was possible to make boxes that were more ugly than the Greatest Hits boxes. Especially the PS3 UK ones.

Still, it'll be great to see more people pick up Hotel Dusk, I managed to pick mine up just after they ran a reprint here which coincided with my birthday. Good times were had while I lay there ill just after my exams.

Players' Choice of this generation is so ugly. PS3's, PSP's, and DS's, at least. Never looked at the 360's logo

And Nintendo won't do it for Wii yet!

Nintendo won't drop the price of the wii until the fad ends. And believe me it will, once those lemmings start running to the next shiny thing, Nintendos money printers will jam.

I'm glad it has the orange banner, then people can't resell these on ebay for a profit (buying up all the games), and real gamers who will play the games can purchase them and enjoy them.

I'm not a fan of Hotel Ripoff, but I just love Clubhouse Games.

Clubhouse Games is the best Nintendo Wifi game IMO, because Action Replay cheaters can't use God mode, infinite life and/or see though wall cheats in checkers, chess, koi koi, etc.

I was looking everywhere for Clubhouse Games to give away as gifts a few months back, now it's available AND cheaper. :)

Peace.

i hope this marks the start of more reprints at discount prices. there are a few games that i missed and are now near impossible to find. Strangely enough, I never encountered the player's choice for GBA, but maybe that's because I live in Canada? I hope this doesn't exclude Canadian retailers :/

And if only they didn't repeat grocery lists of obvious points endlessly, only to force us to tick them off again in chapter summaries! I admire the environments and understated emotion in Hotel Dusk, but the ratio of content to repetition makes it unlikely I'll play through it a second time.

HD, Trace Memory and Indigo Prophecy seem to be the only heirs of the 90s hypertext novel. For that reason alone, all three are worth owning -- no other way to scratch that itch. I wonder whether Michael Joyce, academia's hypertext cheerleader and my old professor, has tried any of the three.

Of course, the case can be made that Phoenix Wright's a better (less boring) version of the hypertext experience, but Wright games don't feel like novels and HD does.

I tried Trace Memory, but wasn't a big fan....despite the story being really interesting, I just couldn't get into it. So far, I'm enjoying Hotel Dusk a great deal, despite the main character acting like a complete sociopath and absolutely nothing he says seems to have any logical connection to anything anyone else says, it's still interesting. Thanks for the re-release, Nintendo. It's fun to not be ripped off on the secondary market sometimes.

....I forgot to add that the Canadian version of these games have the packaging in French and English. This is funny because the explanatory text under "A MYSTERY NOVEL" is simply replaced with "UN ROMAN POLICIER", which makes the entire point of the obnoxious orange strip moot, since they took out the important part of the message.
