Fanswag: Final Fantasy IV

Square Enix's recent remake of RPG classic Final Fantasy IV turned a lot of heads. Most found the title to be quite enjoyable. Having done our part and reviewed the game, it's now time we perform the most painful part of our job: give it away to one lucky reader. What must you do to get your hands on this copy of Final Fantasy IV (retails for $40)? Simply leave a comment telling us if you've played the original game or not between now and Wednesday, September 17th at 11:59PM ET, after which we'll choose one lucky winner via random drawing. Entrants may leave one comment per day.

I have, and it's still one of the better games in the series.

I played the original, but I usually like remakes more, since 9 times out of 10, being nostagic about a game doesn't necessarily mean that it's as good as it was then, now in present time. Every game I though was da bomb when I was kid, usually sucks when I play it now. Oh well....

Yes I have played the original and remember it as one of my most favorite titles of all time. Actually the only oldschool rpgs I like more are from the commodor 64 and they were "the legacy of the ancients" and "Legend of blacksilver"

One of my favorite games growing up. played through it multiple times.

I unfortunately have not played this one before. I hear it's awesome, though.

This is one of the few FF games I have not played, but would love to.

I haven't played the game as of yet, but my buddies tell me its probably the best final fantasy they've played. (and yes they said it was better than FFVII, which i find hard to believe :P)

Not only have I played the original, I'm playing the GBA version right now as part of an event on a Final Fantasy fansite. :P

Played it, never got very far replaying it in the PS1 and GBA ports though. The new graphics should be a big boost though.

Yep, I played the GBA port. It was pretty great.

I've played it on the GBA but never finished it because the game froze on me. So I "borrowed" my cousin's copy but haven't gotten to the spot where my copy froze. But this post will have me playing today while I'm laid up with a toothache.

I played every version released in north america. it's teh awesome!

Seem to remember playing a version of this against the SNES. Really hated having party members drop out of the party when you weren't expecting it. It worked for the plot, but I'd often just equipped them with (insert cool item here). This was before there were a whole lot of help sites, too.
