Despite a well-documented obsession with LittleBigPlanet and its emphasis on user-generated content, our skills pretty much begin and end with penis-themed level design. This is probably why Sony has tapped New York's Parsons The New School For Design and not us to host a LittleBigPlanet level-making competition.
The event, taking place in New York City from September 21-22, aims to pit 120 students in teams of five against each other over a 24-hour period in order to see which group can create the best custom level as judged by developer Media Molecule, as well as members of the media and Parsons faculty. Winners will see their creation make it into LittleBigPlanet as "a specially branded Parsons section" of the game. We can't wait to see what comes out of the competition. As for the penis levels, that's something best left to the masters.

It is becoming abundantly clear that Sony is putting massive amounts of time, and money into the pre-release of this game. They are dead serious on making Sackboy the mascot for the PS3. I can think of no better character than Sackboy.
This game will be the game to own this holiday for both the lemmings and core gamers.
I cannot wait.

i all of a sudden had the idea to recreate a level from fist of the north star. i had that game on the nes and there was a level i could only advance past randomly. i would walk along side this wall back and forth killing bad guys with no clue how to enter. i would sometimes out of nowhere get inside and fight the boss but that rarely happened. i'm going to make a level where i just walk for awhile past a brick wall killing bad guys till i come to a win button.

I go to Parsons and according to our email about this game jam that dates are supposed to be the 20th and the 21st, not the 21st and 22nd.
"between noon Saturday Sept 20th and noon Sunday September 21st" to quote from the email.
