MK vs. DC Achievements reveal Lex Luthor, Darkseid, more

The latter category features intergalactic menace Darkseid, sinister slap-head Lex Luthor and Outworld favorite Baraka, who probably wasn't hugged much as a child. Peer past the break for the complete list of known characters while we poke Midway for confirmation.
Update: One curt comment: "Midway has not officially released the Xbox 360 achievements for MK vs. DCU."
Update 2: Midway has just confirmed the full lineup of characters. You'll find 'em all after the break.

Im not a big fan of DC but this game looks silly fun. I have always been a MK fan, I still remember when 2 came out back when arcades were still cool.

I'm still on the fence about this game. As a comic fan I'm glad to see the likes of Deathstroke and Darkseid, however, I also feel the list is missing something. I think they played the DC list of characters a little too conservatively, using only the most recognizable characters over what would be more interesting... Kombatants.
Looking forward to seeing more videos of gameplay to help me decide how I feel about this one.

I just can't get excited about this title, but a small part of my soul is hoping to be pleasantly surprised. The addition of DC villains is somewhat promising, but the gameplay videos still looked boring.
On a side note, Dirty: A friend and I broke out MKII (downloaded thru PSN the other night) and had a hell of a lot of fun going ol' school. Still: WTF was with Raiden's electrocution move?! You had to practically be making out with another fighter before it would work!

It would've been really cool if they had Jesse Custer, Cassidy, and Dream in there, but that would just be me expecting too much.

I wonder if this game will be xbox analog stick friendly. I don't like the idea of having to use the d-pad for this, it's just not that good imo.

Unfortunately, the MK series is typically the least analog stick friendly series out there, since many of the moves involve long directional routines like back, back, forward, forward.

I was going to point out that "Shazam" is not actually a character, but I think it would simply be too geeky to make such a hair-splitting comment.

Captain Marvel could be pretty sweet. He's basically Superman with lightning bolts instead of lasers.
His "Stamina of Atlas" fatality could push the game into the M rating territory...

Definitely Captain Marvel. The name Shazam is just used to distinguish between him and Marvel's Captain Marvel, going back to the whole DC/Fawcett lawsuit.

I don't think we really need Reptile, Scorpion and Sub-Zero are more enough for the ninja's. Johnny Cage and Kung Lao are a must though, I'll be very disappointed if they don't make it in.
(the achievements imply that this is the entire roster)

I'm actually really looking forward to this. Should be fun for the casual fighting game fan, who enjoys the genre but isn't hardcore enough into it to spend weeks/months on one character just to master all their intricacies.

Lex Luthor is sometime super-powered depending on what story arc you're in the middle of. I remember one particular arc where he was possessed by Brianiac and became super-powered. He's also used various gadgets and weapons throughout his entire career.
What would be pretty sweet if Luthor would stand in the background and have Mercy do his fighting... Yeah!

The name problem is due to the fact that Marvel owns the name "Captain Marvel" for any merchandising and on the covers of comics. If you go to Target you can see the Captain Marvel action figure is called "SHAZAM". Oh well!

This game looks pretty good so far. Alot of fighting games look good on paper or on the screen in this case. My major fault with myself lately is that I think so much more than the game finally offers. I always raise up the game but then when I play it, it is horrible and comes crashing out of the sky.This just happened to me not to long ago with mercnaries 2. The first game is one of my favorite games. Everything about it,the 52 cards, the free roaming in many cities in Korea, many guns and cars. It was an awsome game. The sequal on other hands broke my heart. No 52 cards, it took more than two clips of ammo standing three feet away to kill a guy. It made me sick. I played it for less than a hour and took it back, thats how horrible it was. This game looks like the same thing. A wolf in a sheeps clothes. I already can tell its going break my heart again. The horror.
