Theodore Nugent's politics might prevent him from being universally celebrated, but there's no denying the man's a virtuoso of the six-stringed axe -- dare we say, a "guitar hero." (Fun factoid: He does it all sober!) Nugent's accomplishments on stage have earned him a spot in the
World Tour, where he joins
Jimi,
Ozzy and
Sting as featured acts. Of course, Nugent spilled the beans
months ago, but Activision made his appearance official today, along with his hit "Stranglehold." Peep the magic of mocap (it can even reverse aging, you know) as Nugent saddles up on his pet buffalo in the debut trailer after the break.

That guy is a jerk.

I concur. Now, enjoy the imminent down voting.
ButtersParker @ Sep 11th 2008 6:00PM
Hey! That guy's dead!
(The one in your avatar, not Ted Nugent)
Drew @ Sep 11th 2008 6:28PM
Oh dear. I have miscalculated! It appears as though Ted is in fact a jerk!

so because he's not a communist democrat he can't be celebrated???
but morons like matt damon and alec baldwin who don't know a lick about economics are your heroes at joystiq huh....
Zachary Hinchliffe @ Sep 11th 2008 5:46PM
it's not the fact that he ISN'T a communist democrat, it's that he's a racist republican.
theillone @ Sep 11th 2008 5:52PM
what makes him a racist...you guys think anything is racist...you can't even make a simple comment or joke without being called a racist
DCL @ Sep 11th 2008 5:31PM
"Theodore Nugent's politics might prevent him from being universally celebrated"
Oh please... Who is universally celebrated for their politics??? If this were a post about the addition of Bruce Springsteen's work to GHWT, would you make the same comment?? I seriously doubt it. (granted Springsteen is more influencial about 10 times over) But that's probably because his beliefs line up with yours now isn't it? Bias FTW.
Soapyshoes @ Sep 11th 2008 5:54PM
What the fuck is wrong with you. Who cares? He's a musician. Nobody comes to Joystiq for political opinions, and they aren't known for political bias. This isn't Fox News.
Side note: "Pussywhipped" by Ted Nugent is possibly the funniest song ever.
fwacce @ Sep 11th 2008 6:19PM

mucky @ Sep 12th 2008 3:03AM
Nobody comes to Joystiq for political opinions, so why bother putting them in the first line of the news post? I'm tired of political bullshit popping up everywhere it doesn't need to be. Stop it, bloggers. Blog about games.
Gavin @ Sep 11th 2008 5:33PM
I've seen him live and met him because the casino resort I worked for was hosting an event with him. He's a total racist. He's also a complete asshole. Avoid paying for anything related to him at all costs. The guy is a douche to the extreme.
B @ Sep 11th 2008 5:43PM
Holy shit, a buffalo? Bad. Ass.
theillone @ Sep 11th 2008 5:55PM
again what makes him a racist??? because someone doesn't believe in welfare does that make them a racist?
Gavin @ Sep 11th 2008 10:22PM
The concert I attended of his (he opened for KISS, only reason I went), he played clips from Blazing Saddle with jokes about the N-Word out of context while waving a Confederate flag. The crowd of rednecks went WILD for it. It was so blatantly racist that you could not miss what he was aiming for.

Yay?

Nay.

What's wrong the Nuge's politics? The country is chock full pussies like the one's who don't like the Nuge's politics.
VaultICEE @ Sep 11th 2008 6:42PM
I'm getting tired of music game exclusives...
I like Rock Band 2 as a game better than I like Guitar Hero as a game, but some of the songs in Guitar Hero are great. I have to either choose a great game with still great songs, or a not-so-good game with also great songs.
(And before you say I haven't played GHWT or RB2, I tried both at PAX, and can safely say that World Tour just didn't do it for me)
lego91994 @ Sep 12th 2008 7:48AM
Just get both, with instrument compatibility I don't see any reason not to unless you really can't afford it.
Levi @ Sep 11th 2008 6:53PM
Despite what anyone says, I do not believe that to be a face of sobriety.
Shagittarius @ Sep 11th 2008 8:14PM
Sobriety? This is Ted, This is the Madman!!!!

"Theodore Nugent's politics might prevent him from being universally celebrated"
Surely, everyone universally agrees with liberal musicians.
Tyrannius @ Sep 11th 2008 9:02PM
Ted's too outspoken though. He's the Dixie Chicks of the right wing (Dixie Chicks are more annoying though). They have him on Fox News more than any other musician.
taco @ Sep 11th 2008 10:57PM
Dang. There goes my hopes of playing "Stranglehold" in Rock Band.
