Valve's Newell confirms Left 4 Dead demo

Fear not, 1% of the world that isn't convinced fighting hordes of zombies with three gun-toting friends is totally awesome. Valve managing director Gabe Newell has confirmed with VideoGamer that a Left 4 Dead demo is coming. The demo, for both Xbox 360 and PC, will include single-player and online co-op options to try out. Said Newell, "I don't know what the date is for release on that, though. I think it's going to contain the first part of one of the campaigns. I think it'll probably be [the] Hospital [level] but I'm not sure." We've contacted Valve hoping for more information. Left 4 Dead is coming for you November 18.

- Valve

I actually sat through that line. Took me an hour to get my hands on it. There's nothing that will keep me from buying this game. It was so much fun, and extremely intense. Well worth the hour wait.

I just hope the locking and loading is similar to Army Of Two.
And is this thing co-op split screen? Folks still don't game online Valve and split screen would rock for us old timers...that just wanna have fun.

If i recall correctly, the 360 version will have split screen. I'm not sure to what extent, though.

You're talking about the 360 version, right? Because the PC version won't have that shit because there's a lot less 12 year-olds on the PC. And even a fewer amount with mics. Anyways, those 12-year olds are probably the ones that think they're 1337 when they get lucky headshots in CS. I doubt they'd bother with a game focused on co-op because they're too self-centered to bother with other people.

Split-screen multiplayer online is a go for this game, or so I read. I'm excited that my wife and I will be able to slay zombies with our friends online! I hope that the demo has multiplayer too...

Which game was that? Seems kind of counter-intuitive; you're only gonna be serving demo pie to people who are definitely getting the game. Although I suppose you benefit from tricking people into buying your game before they know it's poo.

I played this at PAX, and I'm excited to play the Hospital demo!

Everything you guys think this game will be (on the good side of things) well that's what it is. I played it with 3 of my friends, and we all got super excited about it when all of the zombies came rushing at us. Plus, having to save your friends when some zombie starts reeling you in from up in a second story window is one of the more intense experiences I've had in a long while.

They aren't zombies, if you looked closely you'd see these creatures, these undead are running, therefore by definition they cannot be zombies. Also noteworthy is that Mr. Romero himself is disgusted by the Dawn of the Dead remake because the fucked it all by making the "undead" run while still referring to them as zombies.
