Some of you have seen these before, now buried in a pile of damp, wrinkly magazines stacked next to the john. Others capitalized on the brief window of opportunity that afforded speedy clicksters a glimpse at Game Informer's "world exclusive" Batman: Arkham Asylum images before Warner Bros. had 'em yanked from (most) corners of the internet. Today, the rest of us can finally be in on the experience. So go ahead, browse the gallery below -- and by all means, take your time.

i think this looks really good, if screen shots could tell such a thing. the screen shots remind me of the atmosphere of bioshock and hopefully i'll enjoy this game as much.

I like, I like... but I'm not going to get my hopes up too high, I've never really liked any of the Batman games. The only one I sort of liked was Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu (only because it had co-op).

One more thing. Why is it that every post you make is promoting your website and podcast but at the same time you always say "I am not trying to promote my own shit - just broadening coverage".
Kindly stop spamming.

Love the art style, the use of shadows and atmosphere. It looks dark and gritty and Jim Lee-esque. My interest is definitely piqued.

It would be a fine thing to have a good Batman game for once. Conceptually, there's a lot about this game that sounds good. It's strange that nobody (that I know of) has ever pulled off a really good Batman game, especially given the potential of the source material... but hope springs eternal in the heart of the true gamer.

LOL, a gray Batman? Is it going to be voiced by Adam West?

It looks like the Unreal engine was involved with this, judging by the prevalence of muscles that have their own muscles.

Arkham asylum was around a long time before Butcher Bay in comic book form. With that sort of logic you might as well have called Butcher Bay "Riddick: Alcatraz/San Quentin/Folsom"

That's true about the setting, yes, but it's gameplay looks derivative of those games. Which is one of the highest compliments I can give to a gritty western developed Action / Adventure game, as those are two of the finest examples of such a game.

I mean, really... This is about a video game on a blog about video games. Naturally, one would assume I was comparing a game to another game.

Nice. The atmosphere's almost like Bioshock, except the characters have better detailed faces. Batman's face in particular looks excellent without looking like those of MK vs. DC or Alex Ross's works. Kind of like Jim Lee actually and that's just what I like. And with Mark Hamill to do voice work (and hopefully Kevin Conroy too) this just had to turn out right, because I can't stand another promising game and turn out like, say, Alone in the Dark, Mercenaries 2, Assassin's Creed, etc. where there are heavy bugs or general weakness in game design that's might be considered game breaking.
