Cycle complete: Burnout Paradise Bikes coming Sept. 18
The latest (free!) downloadable update to Criterion's car-crumpling crashtravaganza, Burnout Paradise, has been scheduled to arrive next week on September 18th -- sans two wheels. The Burnout Bikes pack (hands-on impressions here) adds 38 new against-the-clock race events, a customizable day/night cycle, dynamic weather effects, 70 new Freeburn challenges and ... oh yes, motorcycles.
We hope other folks in the industry are learning a thing or two from Criterion's robust support of Burnout Paradise. Oh, sure, we like the freeness of it all, but what we're really saying is that we want downloadable motorcycles for everything. Yes, including Too Human.
(Note: We're checking if this applies to both platforms. There's no mention of either in the announcement. Update: Burnout Bikes will hit the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 simultaneously.)
[Thanks, Stephen]

Alright, Criterion, you finally sold me. I'll pick this one up this weekend, hopefully I'll actually have time to play it an still get those last 3 rainbows in PJMonsters. Really wish more developers would continue to add such great content to their releases. I'm really impressed by the dedication, and hope that sales reflect their effort. Anyone know how sales are going so far?
My psn is also pkpk523. Let me know if anyone wants to test the online waters for this one the upcoming week.

Any word on whether this patch adds trophy support on the PS3? Or is that another patch altogether?
macgyver @ Sep 12th 2008 5:49PM
the trophies patch comes later. check out criterion's website for the full details on both updates.

macgyver @ Sep 12th 2008 5:52PM
by the way, has anyone else noticed in the screenshots that the female bikers have their jumpsuit unzipped to reveal some chest?
BarelyFitz @ Sep 12th 2008 7:50PM
I recently bought this game, specifically because I heard about the frequent and free updates that were being made.
Skunk Ape @ Sep 12th 2008 6:31PM
Yes! Finally a date. I've been sitting on 101% completion for far too long. I need something else to do in my favorite game.
Megadanxzero @ Sep 12th 2008 6:44PM
Brilliant, this is one of few games that I keep coming back to. It's good to know that even EA can take time off from releasing new iterations of a series every year and give us something really worthwhile instead
