Eternal Sonata brought the charming sound of Chopin onto the Xbox 360 late last year; meanwhile on the other side of the console pond, PS3 owners waited with the utmost patience, just waiting for the title to cross over -- which it did. Then came the waiting for an official date, which will officially be over once you finish reading the next sentence ... or the headline.
The game will be out this October 21. That's four days shy of being exactly 13 months apart from the original release on 360. We're seeing shades of 2K's BioShock here, given the whole year difference. In any case, PS3 owners who so dearly wish to muck up the deceased composer's life can do so next month.

this game will sell wayyyy better than the 360 version, because the ps3 still has the most rpg'ers. infinite undiscovery is doing horribly right now, it is selling baddd! if it was on ps3, im sure it would be doing 100x better, it has not even sold more than 12k yet according to vgchartz lol. just goes to show what 360 owners think of rpg's even though they act as if they are the rpg king

Where do you see 12k? I only see 15k for all countries other than the US and Japan (which they don't have data for yet).
Alternatively, Eternal Sonata sold 190k in North America (270k total) and Tales of Vesperia has sold 57k in its first week (doubling Eternal Sonata's opening week) and already at 200k (worldwide).
I would like to think those numbers would be different if they released on PS3 first (especially in Japan), but they don't seem *that* bad so who knows.

I mean with LBP, Bioshock, Guitar Hero:WT, Rock Band 2, Motorstorm:PR, this and many others, how am i, or any other person supposed to manage? Lets not forget that R2 would only be two weeks away! AHHHH!!!! October/November NPD sales are gonna be flaming hot...

Easy - buy one game at a time in the order you want to play it - then start taking advantage of used and price cuts.
Busy playing Folklore ($26) while I was waiting for SW:FU - but I'm not paying $60 for 8 hours of choppy gameplay. Thanks but no thanks.

What about Europe? Are we getting it too? I suppose I can always import...
And I hope it has trophies.

Trophies haven't been confirmed, and there is no release date confirmation for Europe. I hope you guys will be able to get it, but like you said Chris, you can always import our version but I would wait a bit.

I'm glad this is out Oct , but... I just preordered Persona 4. It would be ashame if I immediately ditch this game once P4 comes out.... of course that depends on how much time I invest into ES and if i'll finish it. I have a habit of getting close to the end but never finishing a game - guess I just hate farewells and goodbyes.
But my god.... this holiday. I praise you all for trying to get as many games as you can for your systems. This holiday's definitely gonna rock.

Lets be honest rpgs have a limited following in the usa. Most people want games they can jump into and not read 100's of pages of text before the game even begins. I enjoyed some rpg's when i was younger and had the time but who has time to devote that much time into 1 title when you have other games and stuff in your life? Companies are only going to release stuff that they think will sell and rpgs are the worst selling genre in the usa. except maybe fishing games..lol

well , there are plenty of people who like RPG's in the US and Canada(since I'm Canadian) so I think that rpg's can sell pretty well here , but in japan , sales of rpgs are just epic , mostly Square's .

I doubt it to be honest... but a patch to boost sale could be come on a near future but the chances are slim.
